Job Description
(A) Administration and Planning
· Provide a developmentally appropriate training programme in consultation with the teachers-in-charge.
· Submit monthly report of participants’ attendance and progress assessment.
· Communicate with the teacher in-charge on all matters pertaining to the After-School Engagement students.
· The programme should include:
a. Every Tuesday and Thursday – good range of small group engagement activities (e.g., games, sports etc.)
b. Every Wednesday – programme for student development in line with objectives and outcomes stated above.
c. Seven checkpoint activities at specified dates
i. 12 Mar – Team Bonding Games in school
ii. 20 May – Contributing to school cross country run organizing and implementation.
iii. 29 May, 19 Jun – Values in Action (service learning) project
iv. 29 Aug – Perform an item for Teacher’s Day Celebration Concert
v. 3/4 Sep – Values in Action project for disadvantaged children
vi. 24 Oct – post-exam activity
vii. 30 Oct, 6 Nov, 13 Nov, 20 Nov – Learning journeys and Values in Action (service learning) project
d. Start the Year Right activities on 18 and 19 Dec.
Provide all programme materials / resources in softcopy and share with teacher in charge before printing.
(B) Implementation and Review
1. Conduct and manage weekly programme for a class of students.
2. Develop the leadership skills of the selected students.
3. Assist the teachers in the school in the operation of After-School Engagement venue.
4. Mentor students and model good values.
5. To work with the teachers-in-charge to motivate students and equip them with relevant skills and values.
6. Conduct a pre- and post- survey in line with based on the objectives at the end of June and November
7. Make adjustments to the programme based on teachers-in-charge feedback, including after the survey data collections.
(C) Engagement with External Parties
1. Liaise with external communities and provide platforms for students to partake in the service-learning projects and learning journeys together with the teachers-in-charge.
2. Service-learning projects should include two different sectors of beneficiaries, such as young children at risk, underprivileged groups and/or other similar sectors.
3. Learning journeys should include trips to two different industries based on students’ interest, such as The Green Economy, Care Economy and Digital Economy.
Requirements
· At least Diploma in Social Work/ Educational Psychology/ Counselling or its equivalent.
· At least 3 years of counselling experience/social work and had worked with youths.
· Have to be registered with the Ministry of Education
· To provide a list of current and past training conducted for similar programme from 1 Jan 2021 to the closing date of this ITQ.
Working hours
· Term time: 2.30 pm to 5 pm
· School Holiday: either 9 am to 1 pm or 1 pm to 5 pm
· Term time: 2.5 hours/ session
· Total: 165 hours
· School Holidays: 4 hours/ session
· Total: 40 hours
· Grand total: 205 hours
