Battery Product Manager Job Description
A Battery Product Manager bridges the gap between technical expertise and the sales process by supporting clients in selecting and implementing optimal energy storage solutions. This role involves engaging with customers, understanding their technical and business needs, and providing tailored storage solutions related to battery types and systems. It combines strong technical knowledge with excellent customer interaction and presentation skills.
Essential Functions/Responsibilities
1. Pre-Sales Support
o Collaborate & co-pitch with sales teams to identify customer needs and recommend suitable battery solutions.
o Analyse client requirements, including energy capacity, efficiency, and system integration
o Provide technical presentations, demonstrations, and proposals to potential clients.
2. Solution Design
o Develop customized battery storage system configurations to meet client specifications.
o Conduct feasibility studies, load analysis, and system sizing for energy storage projects.
o Ensure proposed solutions align with industry standards, safety protocols, and client expectations.
3. Technical Consultation
o Serve as the technical point of contact during the pre-sales phase.
o Advise customers on battery technology such as 24/48V lithium-ion mainly for robotic application. Diverse batteries technologies knowledge such as lead acid, solid-state or flow batteries can help customers to understand better.
o Address client inquiries regarding performance, reliability, and compatibility of solutions.
4. Market and Product Expertise
o Stay up-to-date on emerging battery technologies, trends, and market dynamics.
o Collaborate with supplier to understand new features and innovations.
o Conduct competitive analysis to highlight the advantages of the company's solutions.
5. Customer and Supplier Engagement
o Build strong relationships with global customers, acting as a trusted & technically competent advisor.
o Support site visits, technical discussions, and workshops for potential projects.
o Gather feedback from customers to improve product offerings.
o Manage suppliers through out sales processes including post sales supports.
6. Documentation and Reporting
o Prepare detailed technical proposals, quotations, and system specifications.
o Create and maintain documentation for all pre-sales activities and customer interactions.
Education and Experience
1. Degree in Electrical Engineering, Energy Systems, or a related field.
2. At least 5 ~ 7 years of experiences in pre-sales of energy storage, or a similar technical role, especially in electrified mobility & mobile robotics.
3. Strong knowledge of battery technologies such as BMS, energy storage systems, and power management is a must.
4. Proficient in analysing battery data via CANbus or Modbus communication protocol.
5. Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
6. Ability to travel globally for customer meetings, site visits, and industry events
