MAIN DUTIES / RESPONSIBILITIES OF ROLE

The focus of the Trade Support Specialist within the Brevan Howard Operations team is on ensuring the complete, accurate and timely capture of trades and lifecycle events. The core services, processes and controls are provided to portfolio managers and execution traders within the Brevan Howard group to ensure accurate risk and P&L capture. The Trade Support team forms part of the Operations Function supporting trading activities across a diverse range of Brevan Howard funds and financial markets instruments traded for these funds.

The core services provided by the Trade Support Specialists are as follows:

Trade Capture

• Monitoring electronic trade flows
• Ensuring accurate trade capture of voice executed transactions
• Compliance with regulations and internal policies with respect to trade execution and capture
• Publishing P&L and working with portfolio managers and execution traders to resolve queries

Life Cycle Event Management

• Facilitation of option expiry processes and other contractual obligations
• Corporate event and credit event processing
• Compression and novation processing

Static Data Management

• All elements of instrument data set up and maintenance
• Onboarding of portfolio managers, execution traders, and funds
• Support for static to aid the STP of trade capture

Reconciliation of Fund Positions

• Ensure funds' positions and trade details recorded in internal systems match external parties (clearers, custodians, prime brokers, counterparties)
• Facilitate the timely resolution of position and trade breaks

Process Improvement and Projects

• New business initiatives: Including set up of new traders and products
• Process Improvements including technology enhancements
• Enhancing knowledge through training and maintenance of team procedures and policies
• Completing event reviews and implementation of risk mitigation improvements

The role entails working closely with execution traders and portfolio managers across a number of Brevan Howard funds. An ability to prioritise based on risk profile is critical, as is a clear and concise communication approach with such front-office staff. The role also requires close working relationships with a number of internal partners including Brevan Howard's COO team, Fund Control, Investor Relations, Fund Risk and Quants teams. Occasionally coverage across the wider Brevan Howard operations function may be required.

Key Responsibilities:

Cybersecurity Risk Assessment & Mitigation:

• Cyber Risk Assessment: Conduct comprehensive cyber risk assessments in support of technology initiatives, identifying IT-related risks and recommending appropriate security controls to mitigate those risks.
• Risk Monitoring & Management: Continuously track and manage risk mitigations and exceptions, ensuring that risk reduction measures are implemented and that monitoring capabilities are integrated into the solutions to detect and respond to evolving threats.
• Compliance & Best Practices: Ensure that all security measures and controls are in compliance with internal policies, industry standards, and regulatory requirements (e.g., GDPR, HIPAA, PCI-DSS).

Network Security Design & Implementation:

• Solution Design: Design High-Level (HLD) and Low-Level (LLD) network security solutions, tailoring the security architecture to meet specific business requirements and security needs.
• Firewall & UTM Solutions: Implement and manage firewall and Unified Threat Management (UTM) solutions, including but not limited to Checkpoint, Fortigate, Palo Alto firewalls, and AWS-based security configurations.
• Encryption & Authentication: Design and deploy robust encryption technologies (e.g., Symantec 12.1.4) and implement two-factor authentication solutions (e.g., RSA Secure ID) to ensure secure access to corporate resources.
• Cloud Security: Manage and secure cloud environments, including AWS firewalls, AWS Shield, and AWS WAF, to safeguard cloud-based assets and services.

Security Incident & Problem Management:

• Incident Management: Respond to and resolve security incidents, monitoring for any unauthorised access, vulnerabilities, or breaches in the network. Investigate the root cause and implement remediation strategies.
• Change Management: Oversee changes in the network security environment, including the installation, configuration, and maintenance of firewalls, load balancers (e.g., F5 LTM/ASM), and proxy servers (e.g., Bluecoat, ZIA, ZPA).
• Proxy & Web Security: Manage and secure proxy servers and web security gateways (WSGA, Websense), ensuring that all outbound and inbound traffic adheres to the organisation’s security policies.

Global Client Support & Collaboration:

• Client Communication: Act as a liaison for global clients, understanding their security requirements and proposing tailored solutions that address their unique needs.
• Client Support: Provide ongoing support for security infrastructure deployed across various client locations, including resolving incidents, handling requests, and managing vulnerabilities.

Security Monitoring & Reporting:

• Network Monitoring: Utilise network monitoring tools (e.g., SolarWinds, CA Spectrum, and E-Health) to proactively identify potential threats and vulnerabilities in the network.
• Reporting & Documentation: Maintain detailed records of risk assessments, security incidents, mitigations, and system configurations. Prepare reports for management and stakeholders on security posture and risk mitigation progress.

Training & Awareness:

• Security Awareness: Educate internal teams and clients on best security practices, risk management strategies, and incident response protocols.
• Continuous Improvement: Stay updated with the latest trends, tools, and technologies in network security, ensuring the company’s security measures remain current and effective.

Job Requirements:

Qualifications:

• Experience: 10+ years of experience in network security, systems security, and risk management, with a proven track record in implementing network security solutions and managing complex security infrastructures.
• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Cybersecurity, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
• Certifications:
  • ITIL Foundation (V3 or higher)
  • VMware 6.x or similar (preferred)
  • Relevant certifications in network security such as CISSP, CISM, or CompTIA Security+.

Technical Skills:

• Network Security: Expertise in designing and implementing network security solutions, including firewalls (Checkpoint, Fortigate, Palo Alto), VPN solutions, and UTM.

• Carry out repair, maintenance, and troubleshooting of machinery onboard PSA Marine harbour crafts
• Liaise with Fleet Operations team on breakdown reports and harbour crafts status
• Perform lathe machining, basic gas welding, and cutting works to facilitate repair to machinery
• Assist in lifting activities, forklift operation, confined space assessment
• Perform proper disposal of used oils and chemicals

The ideal candidate should preferably:-

• Possess at least a Nitec in Marine Technology, Electrical Engineering, or Mechanical Engineering

• Possess a valid Class 3 driving license and MOM accredited certifications such as SSIC, Safety Supervisor, Lifting Supervisor, Forklift Driving

· The Personnel shall ensure optimal sound quality for live audiences and recordings, including balancing audio levels, managing live feeds and delivering clear audio for speeches, music and other event components.

4. Video

· The Personnel shall operate video equipment such as cameras, projectors, and editing tools.

· The Personnel shall perform live-streaming, event recording, and display visual elements.

· The Personnel shall ensure video quality and content align with the events’ objectives.

5. Stage Management

· The Personnel shall set up and manage the physical stage, ensuring safety, proper arrangement, and necessary equipment such as podiums and seating.

· The Personnel shall coordinate transitions between event segments (e.g., speeches, performances, presentations) with the Authority's staff.

(b) AV Support for Staff and Students

· The Personnel shall assist in setting up ICT/AV equipment for events, meetings, and lessons.

· The Personnel shall provide video recording support for school events and lessons.

· The Personnel shall supervise students tasked with video recording events.

· The Personnel shall conduct AV training sessions for students and staff.

(c) ICT/AV Planning and Procurement

• The Personnel shall collaborate with the SH (ICT) / ICT Manager to propose solutions addressing ICT/AV challenges, including technical specifications and cost assessments.
• The Personnel shall support the Authority in procurement processes for ICT/AV solutions and services, such as the following:
  • Requirement Gathering: The Personnel shall assist the ICT department in gathering specific user requirements for AV equipment
  • Demo and Testing Coordination: The Personnel shall with with ICT department to organize and oversee product demonstrations or testing of proposed AV solutions to assess their functionality and suitability for the Authority's needs.
  • Vendor and Liaison: The Personnel shall work with the ICT department to liaise with selected vendors during installation and commissioning.

(d) ICT & AV Resource Management

· The Personnel shall assist in managing the Authority's ICT/AV resources.

· The Personnel shall conduct annual maintenance, troubleshooting and basic repairs of ICT/AV hardware.

(e) Media Post-Production

1. Video Editing

· The Personnel shall compile raw footage, arrange clips and create cohesive narratives.

· The Personnel shall add titles, subtitles and on-screen graphics and animations to enhance video content.

2. Sound Editing and Mixing

· The Personnel shall edit dialogue, remove unwanted sounds, and enhance audio clarity.

· The Personnel shall select and propose suitable music tracks for videos.

Job Description

• Deliver sales targets and meet campaign key performance indicators (KPIs) which includes sales targets, call quality and operational standards
• Conduct telemarketing calls to promote General Insurance products with clear product knowledge and references, to existing and prospective customers
• Identify opportunities to cross-sell and up-sell
• Convert leads provided by the company to sales through telemarketing activities
• Ensure all call activities are conducted with full adherence to regulations and in line with Quality Assurance standards

Requirements

• Prior experience working in telemarketing or sales function and/or the financial services sector preferred
• Insurance Certificate in General Insurance (BCP, PGI, HI) will be an added advantage
• Comfortable with outbound calls and stakeholder interactions
• Sales-driven and possess a can-do attitude
