• Set up workstations with all needed ingredients and cooking equipment
• Prepare ingredients to use in cooking (chopping and peeling vegetables, cutting meat etc.)
• Cook food in various utensils or grillers
• Check food while cooking to stir or turn
• Ensure great presentation by dressing dishes before they are served
• Keep a sanitized and orderly environment in the kitchen
• Ensure all food and other items are stored properly
• Check quality of ingredients
• Monitor stock and place orders when there are shortages

· Prepare all South Indian / North Indian dishes inclusive of breakfast, lunch and dinner items.

· Knowledge of Handling the spice items.

· Should have strong knowledge about traditional South and North Indian Food item.

· Preparations should be tasty, delicious and hygienic

· Able to work as a team member to maximise the output

· Follow the instructions of the head cook and Restaurant manager meticulously.

· Able to extract work from the people. Adhoc work under team.

· All preparations should be hygienic without much wastage.

· Should maintain good interpersonal relation with other workers in the Restaurant.

· Maintain at most discipline and obey the instructions of the Management.

· Able to attend the work punctually.

· Experience in cooking South indian food like idly,dosi & Meals Etc.

· Ability to follow SOP’s and detailed recipes.

· Knowledge of varieties of Indian Spice.

· Ensure the prompt and speedy delivery of orders.

· Receiving goods after checking the quality and quantity.

· Storage of raw materials and ingredients appropriately.

· Check the quality of raw and cooked food products to ensure the standards.

· Ensure personal hygiene and safety requirements.

· Ensure the cleanliness of the kitchen, cooking utensils, and equipment.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

• Performs basic tasks of food preparation, cooks, and serves any food delegated as your responsibility ensuring that the highest possible quality is maintained and that agreed standards for food preparation and presentation are met at all times.
• Prepares appetizers plus meat and vegetables for entrees, as well as helps with the proper presentation of the food.
• Maintains work area to a clean, hygienic, and tidy state at all times.
• Observes and tastes food are being cooked, sample all food prepared.
• Controls temperature of cooking appliance, fries, and cooks simple hot food items.
• Assists Chef de Partie and Demi Chef de Partie to prepare A La Carte orders
• Learns and acts how to refill buffet table and keep it attractive during operation hours.
• Assists senior chef in opening and closing the food outlets, including the food storing.

JOB REQUIREMENT

• Knowledgeable in cooking and presentation of food. Food sanitization knowledge is a must.
• Ability to communicate basic English.
• Works well under pressure and tight time and space constraints.
• A quick learner and a good team player with good interpersonal skills.
