About the role

Reporting to the Regional Credit Manager, this intern will be part of a larger team within the Asia Pacific Finance department, working closely with internal and external stakeholders to minimise company financial risk and assist in enforcing existing policies and procedures. This 6-month full-time internship commences December 2024/January 2025.

What you will be doing

• Ensure monthly Credit Management Reporting is submitted to Regional Management/HQ on timely basis
• Assist the Regional Credit Management team to request and pursue payment on delinquent/Close monitoring accounts via communication with account holder
• Review and update account status according to established guidelines
• Maintains log of payment promises and pertinent account details; schedules follow-up communication with account holder
• Responsible for handling the collection activity for delinquent accounts and enforcing collection policies & procedures

As a trusted partner, you will be responsible for providing an independent credit risk evaluation of SMBC credit assets in Asia Pacific region. Credit assets include (but not limited to) exposures to Corporates, Banks / Non-Banks Financial Institutions, Structured Real Estate finance, Project Finance, Securitization, and Leveraged Buyout (‘LBO’) as part of the third line of defence function.
