Beecroft Animal Specialist & Emergency Hospital has an attractive opportunity for enthusiastic veterinarians with experience in ECC to join their friendly team in a 10,000 sqft state-of-the-art small animal and exotics veterinary hospital.
The hospital is fully equiped with CT, Endoscopy, Fluoroscopy,ultrasound, 2 x-ray rooms, 3 surgical suites, and a 1.5 T MRI (coming in early 2022). It is 100% specialist owned and operated and offers an impressive chance to work alongside specialists as well as experienced veterinarians and nurses in a happy, positive, team nurturing environment.

Roles and Responsibilities
• Provide emergency and critical care to small animals, and exotics during scheduled shifts
• Attend daily inpatient rounds at the start and end of shifts
• Provide consultations for day and night emergency patients
• Perform physical exams, diagnostic tests, emergency surgeries, and advanced medical treatments
• Performing necessary and appropriate diagnostics tests e.g. Perform TFAST and AFAST ultrasounds for emergency patients, blood tests, radiographs, endoscopies, CT scans etc.
• Review and interpret diagnostic test results
• Formulate and perform necessary treatment plans
• To stabilize and treat animals in critical condition, addressing trauma, poisoning, and acute illnesses
• Prescribe pharmaceuticals based on diagnostic results and physical exam findings
• Collaborate with veterinary technicians, support staff, and specialists (both within ECC team and other departments) to deliver quality care to patients
• Create and recommend treatment plans for emergency patients
• Communicate with pet owners compassionately, explaining treatment options, prognosis, and aftercare needs
• Keep accurate and up-to-date patient records, including case notes, diagnosis, and treatment plans
• Update patient information in medical records with the latest findings and treatments
• Assist with inter-departmental transfers to the appropriate specialists
• Refer cases to respective referral clinics where appropriate and provide prompt updates and discharge summaries to referring veterinarians
• Referring cases back to respective referral clinics where appropriate
• Handle a high-volume caseload while maintaining a calm and professional demeanour under pressure
• Ensure adherence to veterinary ethical standards and the practice’s medical guidelines
• Participate in continuing education to stay current on the latest veterinary advancements and emergency care techniques
• When necessary, provide guidance and training to other ECC te
Requirements:Minimum 2 years’ experience
Excellent communication
SkillsCertificate holder in ECC would be an asset
Endoscopy/gastroscopy skills are advantageous
Veterinary degree must be recognised by the AVA in
