To exemplify and take NTUC’s main driving force that Every Worker Matters to a whole new level, NTUC Club (Club) is onboarding a strategic partnership with Ministry of Manpower to run 5 Migrant Workers Recreation Centre (MWRC).
The RC Assistant Manager plays an important role in ensuring the smooth operation and delivery of leisure and recreational services within a Recreation Center (RC). This position involves overseeing the planning, organization, and execution of recreational programs that cater to the diverse interests and needs of the community, promoting health, wellness, and a sense of community among migrant workers. By managing resources efficiently and fostering a welcoming, inclusive environment, he/she supports the enhancement of quality of life and contributes to the overall well-being of individuals and communities. Through networking with various stakeholders, this role ensures that recreational facilities and programs are accessible, engaging, and meet the expectations of those they serve.
The RC Assistant Manager roles and responsibilities include:
- Assist in planning, organizing, and overseeing recreational programs, including sports leagues, fitness classes, and cultural arts events, ensuring a diverse range of activities that meet the interests and needs of the RC visitors.
- Assist in managing contracts with vendors, instructors, and service providers to secure equipment, facilities, and professional services required for program offerings.
- Implement marketing and promotional strategies to increase awareness and participation in recreational programs, including social media campaigns, local advertising, and outreach events.
- Conduct regular safety inspections and maintenance of recreational facilities and equipment to ensure compliance with health and safety regulations and to provide a safe environment for all participants.
- Evaluate the effectiveness of recreational programs and services through participant feedback, attendance records, and financial analysis, adjusting as necessary to meet visitors’ needs and optimize resource use.
- Advocate for the development and improvement of recreational facilities and spaces, including presenting proposals to NTUC Club and seeking grant funding to support expansion and enhancement projects.
Qualifications and Other Requirements
The RC Assistant Manager is typically rich in hands-on experience within the recreation or engagement field. The RC Assistant manager roles include frontline positions to supervisory roles, encompassing the planning, execution, and evaluation of recreational programs and events. A good candidate usually has a blend of practical experience in both direct service delivery and administrative oversight, demonstrating a comprehensive understanding of the recreation sector’s complex nature.

Community Engagement: The RC Assistant Manager creates an environment where everyone feels valued by actively engaging with and listening to diverse community groups in RC. Organizing events and programs that align with community interests promote participation and improve residents’ quality of life.
Crisis Management: During crisis or pandemic in Singapore, the RC Assistant Manager must take on a different role to assist WOG to convert the RC to the requirements provided by the organized authority. This role is to facilitate the WOG to manage the crisis or pandemic situations.
