What the day will look like

• Brainstorm innovative ways to use our unique data to answer business problems.
• Provide technical leadership in a team that generates business insights, identify impactful recommendations, and communicate the findings to clients.
• Collaborate with a team of experienced actuaries, data engineers, developers, and business experts to deliver on Aon’s data, analytics and reporting capabilities.
• Develop elegant, and effective methodologies to solve complex business problems.
• Work with large datasets spanning health, wealth, and talent domains to identify key insights.
• Build pipelines for data cleaning, and data transformation while ensuring good code quality.
• Partner with business experts to enrich the data and find meaningful relationships/insights that can be applied to build actionable solutions.
• Build statistical and machine learning models to solve the business problem.
• Design, develop, test, improve, and document analytical solutions to drive innovation and efficiency.
• Implement automation, when possible, to streamline the process, and minimize manual intervention.
• Mentor junior colleagues and communicate with stakeholders.

Skills and experience that will lead to success

• Bachelor, Master, or Ph.D. in engineering, statistics, economics, or any other equivalent discipline with a strong statistical background.
• Experience working with defined contributions data, pension modeling and asset/interest rate analysis.
• Experience working with time series data sets and analysis.
• 5+ years of hands-on experience with data cleaning, analysis, modeling, and result interpretation.
• Experience working in product teams with focus on designing and developing analytical capabilities.
• Recent working knowledge of SQL, Python, and PySpark. Knowledge of Databricks is a plus.
• Ability to handle projects with ambiguity in requirements and handle multiple projects at a given time.
• Fluent presentation and communication skills and ability to convey technical analyses and information in a clear and concise manner to a wide variety of stakeholders.
• Understand the importance of performance and able to implement best practices in ensuring performance and maintainability for data-centric projects.
• Quick and eager student of new technologies as and when they are needed.

Data Analysts collect data, such as sales numbers or market research, to help companies make the right decisions. Key role of this position is to generate actionable insights, trends, problem statements, and business value. This person may be required to work with key partners in business and technology teams to create meaningful visualizations and stories to describe data in forms usable by the business.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with cross functional team members and stakeholders to identify, collect and analyze data; to solve data related business challenges
• Analyze datasets to identify trends and uncover insights for potential business improvement and business opportunities
• Set up and maintain tracker on key leading business indicators
• Use graphs, infographics and other methods to help visualize data and present recommendations and findings to stakeholders
• Create useful reports and dashboards to help team members and stakeholders track performance and achieve business goals

Qualifications:

• Graduate Degree in Mathematics, Statistics, Economics, Computer Science, Business or any other related discipline or commensurate work experience or demonstrated competence. Proven experience in data analysis, preferably in a similar role.
• Typically has 2-3 years of work experience, preferably in data analytics, database management, statistical analysis, or a related field or an advanced degree with little or no work experience.

• Strong data visualization skills using tools such as Tableau, Power BI, or others.

The Role

The Data Scientist will implement cohesive data integration and analytics solutions involving both structured and unstructured data. Projects will include development of predictive, forecasting or operation research (optimisation) models as well as text mining and network analytics solutions.

Job Responsibilities

· Primarily responsible for applying the skills and knowledge gained about data analysis, analytics, data science to ensure the successful delivery of client engagements and initiatives within our Data and Analytics practice.

· Develop and manage the end-to-end lifecycle of analytics projects from requirement, data scoping, modelling to production (model deployment and monitoring).

· Attend and assist in facilitating project meetings / workshops with client working team members.

· Propose, implement, and validate algorithms, ensuring functional and non-functional requirements such as transparency, fairness, scalability, security, integration complexity and operational costs.

· Participate in software development processes and best practices, documentation of requirements and software codes during the software development lifecycle.

· Produce high quality deliverables/document, with-ready-to-use content.

· Drive a module or task within a project on their own with minimal supervision.

· Prepare user requirements and any data development work including documentation.

· Proactively perform research on the business, industry and functional domain of the client to stay up to date.

· Assist in developing project deliverables and assets such as templates, processes, reports, and presentation decks for the client based on the work assigned.

Job Requirements

· Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Mathematics, Statistics, Business Analytics or equivalent.

· Data Scientist – at least 2 years’ experience in data analytics fields/ML.

· Experience in data processing, feature selection, hyper-parameter optimization, model validation and visualization.

· Experience in data analysis / numerical computing / classical ML tools like Pandas, NumPy/SciPy, Scikit-Learn, or XGBoost.

· Able to develop SQL queries and working with data models.

· Experience in production software engineering routines such as test-driven development, code versioning with Git, conducting code reviews, and CI/CD.

· Familiar with object-oriented programming concepts and their application to data science pipelines.

· Deep and eager interest in emerging technologies and the ability to leverage the technologies into solutions to meet our strategic and operational client needs.
