What the role is

Infrastructure Planning and Design Department 1 (IPDD1) plans for and carries out the detailed engineering design and development of infrastructure projects for the collection of general waste and disposal/use of waste treatment residues, and the remediation and redevelopment of closed landfills.

You will be part of the Waste Residues Treatment Branch of IPDD1, in charge of planning, managing and implementing infrastructure projects to treat waste residues and will also be involved in other projects handled by the Department. You will be required to work closely with various stakeholders in the government & private sectors.

What you will be working on

You will be responsible for the following:

• Plan, manage and co-ordinate projects to dispose/use waste residues such as incineration ashes and non-incinerable waste
• Plan, request and manage funding for waste infrastructure projects
• Manage and supervise the construction of waste treatment infrastructure to process waste residues
• Explore innovative technologies to convert waste residues into useful products for use as e.g. reclamation fill materials
• Work with other project teams in the Department on redevelopment of old landfills and other waste residue projects
• Liaise and work with other Departments and Divisions on solid waste management projects
• Carry out cost benefit analysis for the projects.

Your Role

• Coordinate design drawings with consultants to comply with requirements of the authorities
• Review and provide solutions to technical problems as well as plan, monitor and report shop drawing production progress
• Prepare technical submissions for materials, construction methods and C&S shop drawings
• Resolve construction issues on drawings and liaise closely with Architectural and M&E teams as well as the authorities
• Supervise a team of BIM Modelers for the production of coordinated shop drawings and Concrete Body Plans

The Requirements

• Possess a Degree in Civil/ Structural Engineering with relevant design working experience with contractors
• Preferably a Professional Engineer registered with the Professional Engineers Board, Singapore
• At least 3 year(s) of working experience in the related field is required for this position.
• Be conversant in British & Singapore Design Standards
• Be independent, analytical, highly motivated with excellent team spirit and interpersonal skills

The ideal candidate will be involved with preparing financial reports and statements, bank reconciliations, and conducting cyclical audits. Moreover, the candidate must have strong interpersonal skills and possess a strong business acumen.

Responsibilities:

• Perform full sets of accounts such as AR, AR, payments, receipts, invoicing and general ledger functions.
• Perform month-end, year-end closing, and audit schedule.
• Prepare monthly bank reconciliation.
• Assist in enquiries from external auditors for interim and statutory audits.
• Work with auditor, tax agent and corporate secretary for regulatory compliances.
• Report to Manager on budgeting, cashflow planning.
• To compile quarterly GST reconciliation for submission.
• Participate in annual stock count and reconciliation.
• Maintain good documentation and filing system.
• Ensure compliance with existing internal controls including external/internal audit requirements.

Qualifications:

• Diploma in Accounting or related field
• Ability to interpret and analyze financial statements
• Fluency in Microsoft Office suite (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc.)
