Responsibilities

• Perform engineering duties such as design, engineering calculations, planning, tender preparation/evaluations as part of the engineering project team
• QA/QC documentation of engineering deliverables
• Liaison with clients, project managers, architects, contractors

Overview:

A Solar Engineer specializes in the design, installation, maintenance, and optimization of solar power systems. Their role is pivotal in the shift toward sustainable energy solutions, as they work on both small-scale residential projects and large-scale solar farms. Solar engineers combine knowledge of engineering, physics, and environmental science to ensure solar energy systems are efficient, reliable, and economically viable.

Key Roles & Responsibilities:

• Design and engineering for Rooftop PV Systems.
• Attend site survey to verify roof layout and SLD’s as per the site.
• Design and engineering of On-Grid, BESS system.
• Design PV Layouts, SLD’s and other drawings etc.
• Design cable trunking and cabling routes and drawings.
• Design PV System according to Local code of practise SP, SCDF, JTC, and relevant authorities.
• Software Knowledge: AutoCAD 2D and PVsyst,
• Coordinate with Project management team to verify design and actual installation works.
• Provide engineering support as needed to the project development and project management team.

Required Qualifications:

1. Education:

• Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Renewable Energy, or a related field.

2. Technical Skills:

• Proficiency in solar design software (e.g., PVsyst, Helioscope, or Aurora Solar).
• Strong understanding of electrical systems, power distribution, and energy storage.
• Knowledge of local and international codes and standards related to solar power (e.g., NEC, IEC).
• Experience with AutoCAD or other design tools.

3. Soft Skills:

• Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
• Good communication and teamwork skills to collaborate with multidisciplinary teams.
• Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.

4. Experience:

• 2-5 years of experience in the solar industry or renewable energy sector.
• Previous experience in project management, system design, or solar installation.

Work Environment:

• Location: Solar engineers may work in offices for design and planning, but they also spend time on-site for installation and inspections.
• Travel: Frequent travel to project sites may be required, especially for large-scale installations.
• Working Conditions: Some fieldwork may involve working outdoors, often in varying weather conditions, and can include climbing roofs or accessing elevated areas for solar installations.

Certifications (Optional but Advantageous):

• Safety Certifications related to construction, electrical work, lifting and Working at Height.

Responsibilities:

• To perform engineer’s role on method statement, implement cost & time efficiency on operation
• To checking plans, drawings and quantities for accuracy of calculations
• To supervise site works compliances and inspection requirement
• To carry out daily site supervision, coordination and quality assurance of all trades implementation on site
• To work closely with sub-contractors on project progress and ensure timely work arrangements
• To scheduling materials and equipment purchases and deliveries
• To liaise with consultant and carry out site inspection
• Attend all site's meeting on work progression
• To prepare monthly meeting progression report

Requirements:

• Possess Degree in Civil Engineering
• 3 years working experience in Construction
• Able to work independently
• Have positive attitude

Main Responsibilities

• Participate to the automation of the deployment solution.
• Participate in environment preparation for testing phases.
• Participate in developing tools to simplify day-to-day activities on the program.
• Facilitate coordination between program developers and infrastructure engineers.
• Ensure continuous improvement and maintenance of the CI-CD pipeline.
• Provide investigation help while fostering knowledge and sharing best practices with team members.
• Document processes and ensure their properly followed.
• Ensure high standard delivery to production.

The position requires autonomy and reliability in performing duties while maintaining close communication with rest of project/support team.

Qualifications

Mandatory

• At least 3 years in Software development or DevOps team.
• At least 2 years in Java/J2EE development
• At least 2-year experience with Jenkins, GIT (GitLab)
• At least 1-year experience in Ansible
• At least 1-year experience in GitLAb

Good to have

• Experience with DevOps methodology & tools like Jenkins, GIT (GitLab), Ansible, Docker/ Kurbernetes, CICD pipeline, Java dev context for the tooling, Database or Big Data storage systems, Grafana / Prometheus / Alert Manager / ELK / Kibana, Jira etc.
• Experience of grid computing.
• Basic understanding of finance and investment banking especially Market Risk.
