The Role:

Joining our innovative and dynamic team means actively contributing to the realization and expansion of new products and categories. You will operate both independently and within a collaborative engineering environment, proactively identifying and mitigating technical risks to ensure the timely and to-cost delivery of top-quality products. From conceptualization to mass production, you will craft products with intricate technical specifications, ensuring they surpass rigorous validation stages.

As a technical leader, you will also disseminate knowledge and foster best practices, continually challenging and enhancing Rapsodo's engineering standards to elevate design quality.

Key Responsibilities:

Design robustly engineered products suitable for mass production and assembly.
Develop engineering specifications and requirements; develop solutions to achieve and exceed expectations of marketing and customer requirements.
Develop project schedules and drive projects to successful completion.
Manage risks associated with the delivery of projects and maintain suitable backup options.
Test and verify your design to meet all functionality, reliability, serviceability, customer, and regulatory requirements.
Assist the organization in maintaining system quality throughout the product lifecycle.
Expected to work with cross disciplines, functional and geographical teams.
Expected to drive and manage multiple project teams simultaneously.
Lead design studies (independently and in teams) to solve technical or consumer issues found in the development of a product.

Other Requirements:

Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Design or related field of study. Relevant master's degree is added advantage.
8 years relevant experience in case parts and/or mechanism design. Preferred experience in consumer electronics type products.
An Understanding of injection moulding, die casting and common manufacturing techniques and finishes.
At least 2 years of project management experience as team lead, supervising 2-5 junior engineers for multiple project simultaneously.
Ability to work independently or on a team, with minimal supervision, in a fast-paced and demanding environment.
Ability to interface with all levels in hardware/firmware/software development and test organisations.
A creative and considered approach to problem solving, following clear design processes with pragmatic approach to balance cost and value.
Experience to verify performance through empirical testing as well as analytical models. Strong problem-solving skills.
Expert in system integration for multiple product development cycles in an R&D environment.
Excellent prototyping skills.

Responsibilities:

Familiar with instrumentation specifications and requirements of the assigned project and Industry Standard, Classification Society and Regulatory requirements.
Independently develop engineering specifications (instrument data sheets, specifications, drawings etc.) specific to the assigned project.
Evaluation of all the bids received for instrumentation & control packages from various suppliers, performs a technical bid evaluation process, involves in cost optimization, ensures selected vendors meet technical/engineering and delivery requirements as stipulated in the project specifications.
Conducts kick-off meetings with selected vendors to clarify issues and freeze the scope of the project, prepares, and ensures the timely provision of accurate documents and specifications to the successful vendors to enable the later to execute their work and deliverables.
Independently evaluates the instrumentation & control requirement for mechanical packages in Marine & Topside, contributes to technical bid evaluation process, ensures selected vendors meet technical/engineering and delivery requirements as stipulated in the project specifications.
Independently develops solutions to technical/engineering and related problems by analysing the issues/data, interpreting the analysis and evaluating various options/measures using experience, precedents and professional references.
Review Sub-engineering detailed contractor document / drawing and ensure compliance to project specifications.
Visits suppliers, checks and verify the function tests instrumentation & control items to ensure that they comply as per specifications. Where necessary, works with the suppliers/contractors concerned to rectify the technical issues & making sure that they comply with the specifications and are ready on time.
Participates in meetings, reviews progress and addresses interface/implementation/execution issue, escalates where necessary to ensure that the project proceeds timely and smoothly.
Provides technical/engineering support and advice to Construction/Commissioning work at site, trouble shoots and follows up to rectify the gaps or problems.
Responsible for capturing lessons learned in his/her functional area, closing out project related Lesson Learned.

Requirements:

Degree in Instrumentation & Control / Electronics and/or related.
Minimum 5 -6 years and above of accumulative detailed I&C engineering experience in oil and gas projects.
Experience in Offshore / FPSO project detailed engineering scope is essential for this role.
AVEVA Instrumentation experience is preferred.
Comprehensive knowledge in Project Engineering execution & Industry standards.
Able to commerce work within short notice has added advantage.

Make an Impact by:

Skills for Success:

Degree in Engineering majoring in Computer Science, IP networking or telecommunications/mobile communication.
Working experience in computer networking or the telecommunications industry, especially in the role of project coordinator/project manager. Preference will be given to candidates with project management certifications such as CAPM, PMP, CITPM.
Passionate towards new mobile technologies and systems.
Knowledge of 3G and 4G telecommunications technologies and computer networking, including knowledge of hardware, protocols and internet standards. Knowledge of value-added services such as mobile charging solutions for postpaid and prepaid services, mobile applications is an advantage.
Basic technical knowledge of computer networking, including knowledge of hardware, protocols, and internet standards.
Ability to communicate and conduct presentation effectively in both verbal and written English.
Basic understanding of legal contracts, procurement and financial capabilities in managing capital and operational expenditures.
Good interpersonal skills, leadership qualities and strong teamwork are essential.
