The Senior Design Engineer is responsible for structural analysis and design compliance are met for the project.

A summary of the responsibilities of this position are, and not limited to, as follows:

• Conduct structure analysis
• Provide technical engineering information to ensure compliance with all engineering standards, codes, specifications and design instructions.
• Develop architectural/engineering drawings and ensure specifications/regulations are followed.
• Liaise with architects, engineers and other departments to ensure that the design intentions are met.
• Prepare bills of quantities and cost estimation whenever required
• Ability to identify potential and discrepancies that affect the design and recommend solutions to relevant team/department.
• Adherence to safety practices in the work place.

Value Add of Position

• Design and calculation report for reinforced concrete, steel and geotechnical works using British Standards and Eurocode.

Technical Competencies

• Technical expertise and knowledge in Foundation, Structural and Civil works.

Qualifications and Education Requirements

• Minimum Degree in Civil Engineering from accredited Universities
• Prior 6 years of experience in design and construction (structural). Preferably have done data centre, marine offshore, and mixed-development projects.
• Have completed at least 1 project (data centre, commercial bldg., industrial)
• Well versed in structure analysis and design software such as ORION, SAP2000, SAFE, PROKON, PLAXIS or other similar software
• Well versed in Autocad and BIM software is preferred

Job responsibilities

1. Responsible for Physical Design for Full chip/Blocks covering Floor planning, Placement, Area Optimization, Clock tree synthesis, Placement optimizations, Routing, Timing Closure, power network design, Voltage drop analysis, RC extraction, etc.

2. Be a highly-valued member of our start-up like team through excellent collaboration and teamwork with other R&D Engineers.

3. Work with Frontend team to understand the RTL design and drive physical aspects early in design cycle for physical design closure.

Job requirements

1. Bachelor's degree or above, major in Microelectronics / Electronic engineering / Communication engineering and other related fields.

2. More than 3 years working experience in layout and wiring of 40 nm and below technology.

3. Able to independently complete the whole chip P&R process and IR_ Drop, STA, low power inspection.

4. Familiar with TCL or Perl and other scripting languages.

5. Familiar with design flows and EDA tool software.

6. Familiar with Sign-off methodology and the use of EDA tool software in STA / power.

• Knowledge of submicron semiconductor technology
• Familiar with digital ASIC/SOC design flow from RTL to silicon characterization
• Familiar with Synopsys and Cadence EDA tools for Simulation, Synthesis, Timing (STA), Formal and Assertion based verification, etc.
• Familiar with design and programming languages: Verilog, System Verilog, Python, Perl, C, C++, etc.
• Familiar with code base management method including subversion, git, GitHub, etc.
• Ability to apply analytical and problem-solving skills
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, ability to negotiate design features and options
• Knowledge of embedded system design, verification, and product development lifecycle
• Deep knowledge and domain know-hows in one or more areas below is a big plus.

• Involved in large projects ranging from commercial, industrial, institutional, residential, healthcare and etc.
• Coordinate and carry out tender, evaluation, recommendation and award processes.
• Confidently administer the contract and effectively manage the project team and Consultants for best results.
• Proactively identify and resolve technical coordination, site and/or authorities compliance problems.
• Well versed with planning, codes and building regulations and be updated on contractual and authorities’ requirements.
• Strong design portfolio exhibiting a range of sustainable design project experience.
• Possess creative design thinking and excellent design detailing skills.

Requirements

• Architectural masters/degree recognized by Board of Architects Singapore.
• Minimum 5 years of post graduate architectural experience.
• Bim/Revit, Archicad, Autocad, Sketchup, In-Design, as well as basic rendering and graphics publishing software programs.

Other information

• 2 years contract basis (upon expiry of contract, either extension or conversion to perm based on performance, there is no bond to be served)
