Role
We are always looking for enthusiastic Relief Teachers - English Language to join our relief teaching team. As an English Language Teacher, you will play a vital role in delivering high-quality English language instruction to our students in the lower, middle and upper primary classes ranging from 4 to 12 years of age.
Responsibilities
In your position, you are required to develop and implement effective and engaging English language lessons aligned with curriculum standards. You know how to differentiate instruction to meet the different needs and proficiency levels of students. You will collaborate with teachers across all levels of the school to implement our curriculum outcomes.
You are responsible for:
- creating a supportive, safe and inclusive classroom environment that promotes active participation, critical thinking, and collaboration;
- using a variety of instructional strategies, resources, and technology tools to enhance student learning experiences;
- assessing student progress regularly through formative and summative assessments and providing timely feedback to support their language development;
- collaborating with colleagues to integrate language instruction across the curriculum and support the school's mission of promoting multilingualism and intercultural understanding.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in English, Education, Linguistics, or a related field.
- Teaching certification (e.g., TEFL, TESOL, CELTA) and/or a relevant teaching qualification.
- Proven experience teaching English language and literature to students of diverse cultural and linguistic backgrounds. Knowledge of phonics instruction would be beneficial.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and classroom management skills.
- Knowledge of using cooperative learning structures in lessons.
- Commitment to ongoing professional development and collaboration with colleagues.
- Good understanding of Google Workspace and ICT literate (Apple)
- A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children, including the ability to engage in safe practices and undergo necessary checks.
- A willingness to work collaboratively in a diverse and inclusive environment, promoting equity and respect for all students and staff.
Our offer
A zero-hour contract with hourly pay, starting as soon as possible and running until June 30, 2025, with the possibility of renewal
In addition to a competitive salary, based on your experience and expertise, you will be entitled to a daily transportation allowance.
