Education and Experience

• Degree in Engineering. (Electrical, Electronics or Telecommunication Engineering)
• At least 7 to 10 years + relevant experience in submarine cable operations or submarine cable projects

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

• Experience in driving submarine cable projects especially on the conceptualization, design, vendor selection, contract forming and Project implementation stages.
• Experience in working with submarine cable equipment like PFE, monitoring equipment, OADM, SLTE, OTDR/COTDR, Spectrum analyzer, etc.
• Experience in handling customer service delivery, assurance or partnership management.
• Well-developed analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to set priorities, recognize basic causes, and recommend problem solutions that meet the practical needs of the business
• Good communication skills (both written and verbal)
• Balanced interpersonal style; a team player able to work effectively with employees at all levels
• Self-starter, able to take initiative and work with minimum direction in a fast-paced environment
• Ability to work under severe time pressure

Duties to be Performed:

Senior Mechanical Engineer for HVAC Systems shall be handling on designing and delivering mechanical systems for industrial properties in semiconductors, electronics, biopharma, and related industries.

The mechanical systems include Cleanroom, HVAC, Process exhausts, vacuum, condenser, chilled water, process and process cooling water, fire protection, diesel fuel, natural gas and associated, equipment, ducts and pipe works.

The Duties/ Responsibilities of the Prospective Candidate are,

• Responsible for Engineering of Concept / Basic / Detail design for Mechanical systems with the focus of HVAC systems.
• Shall perform system related engineering calculation including heat load calculation, equipment sizing, distribution system sizing from fundamentals with spreadsheet tools.
• Shall develop design drawings including, but not limited to, PFD, Schematics and Layout for required HVAC systems.
• Engineering design of HVAC and Process Exhaust systems for new/ existing production buildings.
• Conduct feasibility study and conceptual design of Mechanical Systems throughout all technological aspects
• Review of HVAC system in preparation for testing and commissioning and validation
• Coordination and engineering in regards of R&D Equipment requirements
• Provision of engineering service for tendering, conduct site show round and brief bidders
• Develop a detailed project plan to monitor and track progress
• Create and maintain comprehensive project documentation
• Meet with clients to take detailed ordering briefs and clarify specific requirements of each project
• Coordinate internal resources and third parties/vendors for the flawless execution of projects
• Clearly define and align inter-discipline technical interfaces and scope demarcation
• Work with CAD drafters and BIM modeler to guide, check and carry out field verification with them.
• Prepare SOW (Scope of work) for bid package, including BOM for form of tender.
• Calculate system OSE (Operating System Efficiency) of chilled water system to meet MEES requirements.
• Frictional loss calculation for fan and pump head and estimation of power requirements.
• Perform psychrometric analysis on system design
• Trouble shooting of design and construction related problems and develop solutions accordingly
• To promote safe working practices and to protect the health and well-being of Employees, contractors and Customers.
• Liaising with QA / QC Engineers to ensure they are aligned with the requirements of the specification.
• Support during construction stage

Job / Skills Requirement:

• You should have a bachelor's degree in mechanical.
• You should have sound experience in mechanical systems in designing and installation works related to semiconductors, biopharma, laboratories, data centers, or process buildings.
• You should be familiar with both Singapore and Malaysia’s latest codes, standards, guidelines, regulations, and authorities requirements. Your familiarity with available equipment, modern technology, construction methods, and CAD/ BIM is an added advantage.
• You should be able to advise clients and engineers on project execution, supervising progress, and quality of work.
• Able to Travel/ Relocate

Responsibilities:

• Collaborate with functional teams to conduct cleanroom/facility planning and layout
• Carry out physical area/ floor marking, coordinate with functional teams in tool purchase, movement (in/out), tool relocation plan, project timeline and capacity update.
• Perform risk analysis of various project options and outcomes
• Maintain and validate capacity/capital/space models to enable accurate assessment of wafer fabrication and operations loading needs
• Support operational efficiency improvement efforts (cycle time, OEE improvement, capacity optimization, space optimization)

Requirements:

• To Check all drawings, specifications and schedule of works as per the contract document and reporting the discrepancies to consultant and contractor in order to avoid progress delay.
• Full-time site supervision and inspections to ensure that all structural works are carried out as per approved specification and also as per drawings with approved material in an appropriate sequence and methods.
• Inspect and monitor quality of architectural finishing materials delivered to site and quality of workmanship.
• Carry out supervision and co-ordination of architectural works of the project and shall exercise all reasonable skill, care and diligence in discharge of the contract.
• Assist RE in supervision and inspecting all structural works.
• Assist CPM in site progress and update proper site records about the progress of work and documentation.
• Attend site meetings and site walks with clients and consultants.
• Ensure timely submission of shop drawings, method of statement, other technical submissions, material samples and trade demonstration by the contractors.
• Assist and co-ordinate with consultants to resolve any technical and interfacing issues.
• Familiar in consultant Quality Management System and make proper documentation for QMS audit to comply HDB audit.
• Liaise with contractor on work schedule, progress, work quality and quality control etc.,
• Witness and verify any field test carried out on site.
• Monitoring Site Instrumentation report (Settlement marker, Vibration report, Noise meter).
• Update Monthly progress report and daily site activities report.
• Enforce quality control, Safety management, Vector control and tidiness of the work site.
• Update monthly Consultant Safety and Vector report.

4. Communication and Reporting:Serve as the primary point of contact for the construction project’s team, clients, and subcontractors.
   Report daily progress and any issues to the project manager or senior leadership.
   Provide regular updates on milestones, timelines, and project status.
   
5. Documentation and Compliance:Maintain accurate records of work progress, site inspections, and materials used.
   Ensure compliance with local building codes, zoning laws, environmental regulations, and other legal requirements.
   Ensure that permits, inspections, and approvals are obtained and completed on time.
   
6. Quality Control:Inspect work regularly to ensure adherence to quality standards.
   Identify any defects or deficiencies and ensure they are addressed promptly.
   

Requirements for Construction Site Supervisor

1. Education:A high school diploma or equivalent is typically required.
   A degree or certification in construction management, civil engineering, or a related field is highly desirable.
   
2. Experience:Proven experience (typically 3–5 years) in construction, including experience as a construction worker, foreman, or supervisor.
   Knowledge of construction processes, methods, and materials.
   
3. Technical Skills:Strong knowledge of construction tools, machinery, and materials.
   Proficiency in construction software, project management tools, and Microsoft Office Suite.
   Basic understanding of construction drawings and blueprints.
   
4. Health and Safety Certification:OSHA (Occupational Safety and Health Administration) certification or equivalent safety training is often required.
   First Aid/CPR certification may be required depending on local regulations.
   
5. Leadership and Communication Skills:Strong leadership abilities to supervise and guide workers.
   Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to manage relationships with subcontractors, workers, and clients.
