Broad Function

The Engineer shall report to the Manager in the execution and management of Logistic & Automation engineering systems such as Pneumatic Tube System (PTS), Automated Guided Vehicles (AGV), Pneumatic Waste & Linen Chute System (PWLCS), Food Waste Treatment Vacuum System (FWTVS) and non-clinical equipment such Centralised Sterilised Supplies Department Equipment, Food Services Department Equipment. The Engineer shall provide support to audit and monitor the prescribed KPIs of the maintenance services rendered by the specialist vendors and outsourced maintenance service provider.

Duties & Responsibilities

• To oversee and manage preventive, corrective maintenance & coordination work for logistic and automation engineering system.
• To oversee and manage the performance of outsourced maintenance service provider and specialist vendors to ensure good maintenance standards are met.
• Ensure prompt service recovery for any breakdown of equipment and systems to minimize disruption to hospital service operations.
• To provide advisory and support to the maintenance team in addressing and rectifying specialized system failures and troubleshooting. Recommend technology refresh, upgrade and end-of-life renewal.
• To prepare technical specifications and drawings for system improvements and cost estimates.
• Perform any other duties assigned by HOD.

Job Requirements

• Electrical / Mechanical / Mechatronics / Automation Engineering Degree Holder with 0-4 years of related working experience in similar portfolio for Engineer position.
• Electrical / Mechanical / Mechatronics / Automation Engineering Degree Holder with at least with 5-6 years of related working experience in similar portfolio or (Diploma with at least 10 years) in similar portfolio for Senior Engineer position.
• Prior working experience in healthcare setting will be an advantage.
• Prior experience in management of electrical / mechanical / mechatronics /automation systems and facilities operation as well as improvement projects will be an advantage.
• Ability to organize, plan and manage facilities operation, analysis, project management works.
• Excellent communication skills and inter-personnel skills with the ability to communicate effectively across all levels and function well in a team.

Job Scope:

· You may be part of the project team to assist the engineer and supervise IWMF construction progress.

1. To work with project consultants and key stakeholders, such as other government agencies, on the design of the various facilities in IWMF and ensure that IWMF is constructed, erected, installed in accordance with design specifications and complying with statutory requirement.
2. To participate in the testing, commissioning of mechanical, process, or electrical, instrument, control and automation equipment/systems.
3. To attend factory acceptance tests (FATs) at local and overseas factories to witness and verify quality and performance of major equipment/systems.

Your work scope includes:

a. To lead a unit of technical specialists and coordinate maintenance work between contractors and maintenance sections to ensure the safe, smooth and efficient operations of the waste-to-energy facility.

b. To implement preventive maintenance and overhaul programs for the facility's electrical and control equipment such as turbo-generators, motors, switchgears, low tension and high tension equipment, distributed control system and field instruments.

c. To administer contracts for the operation and maintenance of mechanical, EICA or building services equipment

d. To enforce permit-to-work system and safe work culture including supervising contractors’ work for quality and safety

e. To assist in the formulation and preparation of standard operating and safety procedures, equipment testing/changeover programme

f. To perform shift work in a waste-to-energy facility, if needed

g. To assist engineer to implement initiatives on safety and continuous improvement to enhance the safety culture and standards within the plant, as well as drive projects to achieve operational excellence.

Job Requirements:

· Diploma in any Engineering course or Nitec in any Engineering course preferably with 3 - 8 years of relevant working experience.

· Fresh diploma graduates can be considered.

· Preferably with professional certification e.g. Licensed Electrical Worker, Boiler Attendant Certificate, Workplace Safety Health Officer.

· Good technical background and strong analytical skills. Knowledge in solid waste management would be an advantage.

· Proficient in Microsoft Office, and preferably in Navisworks and Primavera P6.
