Responsibility

• Follow established SOPs to perform failure investigations, battery safety testing, and designs of experiments (DOEs) as needed.
• Support in end-to-end test design; plan and validate for new product introduction from prototype to mass production.
• Under the supervision of Safety engineers, support the development and documentation of test procedures, test plans, and corresponding reports.
• Specify and implement test process control and data collection methods, document for data integrity and traceability.
• Interact with internal test/lab groups to ensure that testing across different technology spaces are aligned and meet standards; ensure on-time completions and assessments.
• Manage and maintain daily operations of test equipment and tools, keeping track of lab tools and supplies.
• Ensure appropriate calibration and upkeep of equipment and related spaces.

Requirements

• Degree or Diploma in Mechanical/Electrical/Electronic engineering or equivalent
• Knowledge of hardware product design and experience with disassembly, system and component analyses, and repair
• Project experience as in one of the following technologies is preferred: battery cells and or packs, PCB (e.g. SoC, Memory), and or power adapters/supplies
• Proficiency with hand tools, electronic measurement equipment, scopes, and other sensors/scanning suites — e.g. digital multimeter, high-speed video, microscopes, thermocouples— are desirable. Experience with X-ray and CT scanners highly desirable
• Experience with battery and/or PCB or electrical components, and associated failure mode analyses, are highly desirable.
• Knowledge of battery design and failure mode and analysis is a plus

What is the role?

As the Technical Lead, you will act as the primary contact for the CEO and Product Managers in steering platform development. You will drive the creation of our core platform and improve engineering effectiveness and processes by scaling the platform across target businesses. Overseeing a team of 4-6 engineers, you will build a strong engineering culture driving fast product innovation. Guiding and designing technical architecture, you will manage sprints and releases for the team.

Responsibilities

In this role, you will:

• Lead Architecture and Design: Architect, design, and oversee the implementation of various components of the core platform, ensuring integration with technologies developed by our AI/ML team, APIs for Front-End App, leveraging Cloud, Cloud Native, Edge Computing, and AI/ML technologies.
• Metrics and Optimization: Define key performance metrics for the platform, establish processes for tracking these metrics, and continuously optimize platform performance.
• Engineering Processes: Implement and refine engineering processes, utilizing the most effective tools and methodologies to enhance development efficiency and data management.
• Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with Product Management and Engineering teams to align AI, platform capabilities, and solutions with both business and technical requirements.
• Platform Development Lifecycle Management: Oversee the entire lifecycle of platform development, from conception through deployment and maintenance.
• Technical Leadership and Oversight: Provide technical guidance to engineers, ensuring high-quality technical delivery and effective problem-solving during implementation phases.
• Architectural and Non-Functional Considerations: Ensure that the platform architecture adequately addresses key non-functional requirements such as high availability, scalability, maintainability, and extensibility.

A firmware engineer position is available at Respiree Pte Ltd. The purpose of this role is to develop firmware and/or software as part of a highly integrated custom embedded processing system used in products developed by Respiree.

Responsibilities:

• Design and develop embedded software for new electronic products ranging from simple microcontroller-based solutions to highly complex embedded systems
• Develop software specifications based on requirements and collaborate with others to identify risk areas and evaluate alternatives or improvements
• Work with team members including hardware designers, software engineers to identify software related requirements or even system level requirements and develop corresponding embedded design strategies or architecture that meet those requirements
• Implement embedded code in accordance with defined requirements and/or specifications
• Establish software verification testing tools and methods and execute software testing activities
• Write technical documentation related to ideas, designs, specifications, instructions as per Respiree’s standards.

Requirements:

• Degree in Computer Science or Engineering or Physics with experience in embedded firmware development of 3-5 years
• Demonstrated skills in developing designs with C/C++ in embedded environments including bare-metal, multi-threaded RTOS and embedded operating systems
• Demonstrated skills in using integrations with interfaces such as I2C, SPI, UART, USB, BLE and WIFI based systems and modules etc.
• Specific experience with common microcontroller and or embedded processing platforms such as ARM Cortex-M STM32 and ESP32 chipset
• Strong understanding of software development tools and methodologies used in the context of embedded systems
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills
