Job Description
As a BIM Engineer, you will report to the Senior Design Engineer and be responsible for the successful implementation and management of BIM processes in the construction field, specifically focusing on Building Services, Airconditioning, and Mechanical (M&E, ACMV) works. You will collaborate closely with the design department to ensure compliance with engineering and safety requirements and coordinate with stakeholders to maintain the integrity and accuracy of the BIM model throughout the project lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities

1. Construct and manage Building Information Models (BIM) with precision, ensuring the integrity and accuracy of all models. Ensure timely coordination and completion of tasks as assigned by the immediate superior.
2. Ensure all BIM models comply with project specifications and requirements.
3. Maintain and update the model library for all ongoing projects, ensuring that all data remains secure and is treated as company property.
4. Collaborate with project teams to collect site information for updating project BIM models.
5. Work closely with the Quantity Surveying department to provide drawings and information required for tendering, cost estimation, monitoring, and scheduling.
6. Coordinate with the BIM department to validate and confirm the accuracy of BIM designs.
7. Maintain, update, and manage hardware and software essential for the operation of BIM.
8. Assist in the creation of 2D AutoCAD drawings and ensure seamless integration between 2D and BIM models, bridging the gap between office and site operations.
9. Ensure all work conforms to the company’s ISO standards.
10. Support the submission of Operation, Maintenance, and Monitoring (OMM) manuals and media presentations using BIM models.
11. Follow the company's responsibility and authority matrix in the execution of duties.
12. Participate in the conceptualization and detailed design of ACMV/HVAC systems, ensuring compliance with local codes and standards, such as Singapore Code of Practice (CP13), SS553, and the Fire Code.
13. Utilize design software to perform thermal load calculations, energy modelling, and system sizing.
14. Prepare design documents including system layouts, schematics, and specifications.

Automation Engineering Lead / Manager – Offshore Substation

Job description

Your responsibilities as Automation Engineering Lead / Manager

Ramboll is part of an EPC project, where we are working as engineering contractor for the EPC contractor located in Singapore. The Automation Engineering Lead / Manager will act as a representative for the engineering contractor during execution at their fabrication yard in the north of Singapore, during the fabrication of an offshore substation topside.

In your role as Automation Engineering Lead / Manager, your focus will be to ensure that the installation and commissioning of the SCADA system, Telecom systems, Fire Alarm System and instrument/control portion of the mechanical systems adheres to the technical requirements and the design already developed by the engineering contractor. As such, it will be your responsibility to follow up on progress, site queries non-conformance, SAT and commissioning activities and facilitate minor adjustment as needed and daily technical clarifications. In doing so, you shall collaborate closely with representatives from the EPC contractor, the engineering contractor (your back office), Suppliers and other disciplines and representatives from the client as required.

· Relocate to the fabrication yard and provide reliable information to the project manager regarding significant technical issues, particularly risks.

· Shall be integrated into the EPC engineering team.

· Collaborate closely with the fabrication yard representatives, the engineering design office, client’s home office and other discipline representatives at the fabrication yard.

· Where required, liaise and coordinate Automation tasks with Suppliers, EPC Contractor and other disciplines.

· Trouble shooting / solution finding during fabrication.

· Shall propose a solution, including supporting documentation, to any design issues, flaws, or gaps in the contract requirements. These shall be agreed upon with Company before implementation.

· Coordinate automation engineering tasks as needed during execution.

· Follow up on progress and evaluate / oversee quality from the EPC contractor.

· Review costs for change orders, and progress claims when required.

· Interact with clients and stakeholders on technical solutions to ensure the best solution and in the client’s best interest.

You must have a result-oriented, proactive and systematic approach to your work. You enjoy working both independently and together with co-workers, from both the engineering team and the EPC team thus experience in both design and installation/commissioning is preferred. You will engage with multiple stakeholders during the execution; thus teamwork is essential to achieve results.

Your competencies:

· have a diploma or master's degree in automation, instrumentation, telecom engineering or similar.

· have extensive experience in automation offshore engineering – preferably with offshore substation design and installation/commissioning – with a minimum of 10 years of experience combined with managing of complex engineering tasks.

· comprehensive understanding of offshore OSS design standards and codes is preferred (e.g. NFPA72, DNV-ST-0145)

· have experience with typical OSS interfaces from design phase to procurement, vendors, shop preparations, materials, installation, layout, safety, cable routing, equipment tagging, numbering & marking, testing, and quality.

· be familiar with standard OSS component vendors.

· be familiar with the discipline interfaces and integration to other disciplines and systems.

· speak and write English fluently.

· have excellent communication skills, enabling you to convey complex technical information.
