Assistant Engineering Manager is responsible for effectively lead and ensure the engineering projects where necessary. Check accuracy and quality check of all drafted drawings. Ensure design engineering is completed on time. Monitors drafting on all engineering and construction drawings where necessary. Implement and operate various aspects of the Engineering operating model. They need to be familiar with electrical components for panels and junction boxes.

Main Task
1. To effectively lead and ensure the engineering projects are carried out in compliance to company policies and ensuring accurate adherence to the client's quotation specifications in the drawing.
2. Plan, prioritize and manage multiple engineering projects from conceptual development to handover, within budget, on time, safety and of the required quality.
3. Prioritize tasks and assign team members to ensure that the team’s overall resources are used effectively and that project deadlines are met.
4. Lead the most complex or critical engineering projects, monitor progress and performance against the project plan.
5. To Identify and resolve operational problems and minimize delays.
6. Allocate capital and human resources to maximize productivity.
7. Analyze and approve project investments that best meet the organization needs.
8. Involve in the pre- and post-sale bid preparation functions.
9. To analyze and understand tender requirements.
10. To lead post proposal review to identify good practices and continuous improvements
11. Ensure design engineering is completed on time and as per the set goals
12. Oversee and ensure feasibility study, conceptual, basic and detailed engineering design that are carried out in accordance with project requirements.
13. Ensure that customer safety and quality specifications are constantly met.
14. Monitors drafting on all engineering and construction drawings where necessary.
15. Monitors revised or as-built drawings based on mark-ups and instructions given.
16. Check accuracy and quality check of all drafted drawings.
17. Monitor as-built drawings for completed orders.
18. Lead to Coordinates and cooperates with other disciplines on new process requirements, design to get drawing approved by the client.
19. Support customers' enquiries, RFQ and delivery lead time and develop effective after-sales support strategies when required.
20. Weekly Update of Project Progress to immediate superior.
21. Design and Update engineering documents.
22. Evaluate engineering documents for client’s submission or for construction.
23. Preparation of Project Design basis and specification.
24. Basic Technical and feasibility studies based on the process scope of work.
25. Resource Planning for design work.
26. Not authorize to sign any company documents during the probation period.
27. Other Ad-hoc duties are assigned from time to time.
Special Task
1. Lead to Coordinate and cooperate with other disciplines for documentations to get approval by the Client.
2. Implement and operate various aspects of the Engineering operating model.
3. Develop learning programmes and channels
4. Set individual objectives, periodically reviewing, and assessing performance of direct reports.
5. Provide coaching and advice to team members.
6. Assess feasibility of proposals to improve internal workflows.
Requirements
· Degree in Mechanical/Electrical Engineering or equivalent and above
· Minimum 5 years of experience in a relevant field in a capacity of an Assistant Manager or lead of the Engineering team within the organization.
· Computer literate in MS Office Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, AutoCAD
· Knowledge of designing in 3D layout will be an advantage.
· Good communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
