Project Engineer

1.Project planning and preparation, Project management in expediting Schedule, completion of field paper work. Liaise with internal parties to ensure that all information and requirements are captured at the project initiation stage

2. Verifies all drawings from design team prior to moving to construction phase.

Job Summary:

We are looking for a dedicated System Engineer to join our team. The successful candidate will lead technical projects, manage and maintain our system and network infrastructure, and provide support for Red Hat Linux, Windows VM, and VMware vSphere IT infrastructure. This role demands strong technical expertise, excellent communication skills, and the ability to ensure operational systems meet Service Level Agreements (SLAs).

Key Responsibilities:

Technical Project Management: Plan, execute, monitor, and control technical aspects of various projects. Manage or participate in new system or network infrastructure setups and upgrades.

System Operations and Support: Support operational systems, ensuring they meet contractual SLAs. Perform preventive maintenance and routine operational tasks.

Documentation and Issue Resolution: Prepare and maintain project documentation and reports. Diagnose, troubleshoot, and rectify technical issues effectively.

Red Hat Linux and Windows VM Infrastructure Management: Oversee installation, configuration, hardening, maintenance, and patching. Manage system security, performance tuning, capacity planning, and preventive support. Administer Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) and Windows environments. Manage incident, change, and problem management. Provide system administration support for development teams’ app configuration tasks. Additional skills with Veritas Clustering on RHEL, Chef Automation, and AWS EC2 maintenance are advantageous.

VMware vSphere IT Infrastructure Management: Maintain and operate VMware vSphere infrastructure. Handle vSphere 7.x and work cross-functionally with teams on storage, network, and security.

Additional IT Infrastructure Tasks: Manage SAN storage, networking, and integration with infrastructure agents like NetBackup. Provide guidance and support for data center operations. Lead server automation processes using custom scripts or tools like Ansible.

Collaboration and Communication: Collaborate across storage, network, security, and application delivery teams. Provide support to users and assist them through telephone, email, or chat services.

Qualifications and Skills:

Technical Expertise: 3-5+ years of experience in Red Hat Linux, Windows VM, and VMware vSphere management.

Certifications: AWS Certified Solutions Architect is advantageous.

Skills: Proficiency with server automation (Ansible), network and SAN storage administration, advanced troubleshooting and performance tuning.
