XCL World Academy is seeking to appoint a Secondary Years English Language & Literature Teacher. This is a full-time position starting from 1 August 2024.

Preference will be given to teachers who have relevant subject-specific IB MYP and DP experience, as well as a clear track record of superior teaching in international school settings.

Person Specifications

Main Responsibilities

• Develop and implement lesson plans collaboratively that fulfill the requirements of the bilingual curriculum program while supporting the implementation of the IB PYP.
• Show written evidence of preparation as required.
• Plan and use appropriate instructional and learning strategies, activities, materials, and equipment that reflect understanding of the learning styles and needs of students assigned.
• Build on student capabilities and differentiate to meet student needs.
• Create a classroom environment conducive to learning and appropriate for the physical, social, and emotional development of students. Be a positive role model for students and support the mission of school.
• Undertake planning which emphasizes connections across curricular areas and explicitly focuses on transdisciplinary skills and the essential elements of the PYP program.
• Work collaboratively and professionally with peers, showing respect, being prepared and on time, and adhering to the school wide meeting norms and team essential agreements at all times
• Conduct ongoing assessment of student achievement through formative and summative assessments.

Person Specifications

• Minimum Bachelor’s degree in Education and/or in teaching Chinese/English as a second language or equivalent is required

Primary Duties

• Assuring the quality delivery of client training according to qualification including classroom systems and performance ground school and in-simulator pilot training
• Monitoring and assuring compliance to all authorizations and qualifications

• Strive to increase Instructor qualifications, as required by the program
• Conduct quality pre and post flight briefings
• Suggest changes to curriculum and courseware materials to enhance the clients’ experience

Qualifications
