1. English Homeroom Teacher (Primary) - Maternity Cover (start on Jan 2025)

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• To carry out the professional duties of a teacher as circumstances may require and in accordance with the school's policies under the direction of the school’s Principal.
• To conduct assessment, recording and reporting on the work of students and attending Parents’ Meetings to meet parents and discuss the progress of individual students
• To set appropriate individual student targets in line with the school and departmental targets/policy
• To undertake appropriate training including INSET days at the start of each term
• Promoting and participating in your own continuous professional development:
• To be involved in Co or Extra Curricular Activities and school event days
• To undertake any other ad-hoc duties as assigned

Job Requirements:

• At least a Bachelor’s degree in Education/ Teaching or equivalent, recognized by the CPE/MOE in Singapore
• Higher degree or recognized professional qualification (preferred) Evidence of continued relevant professional development
• PGDE and/or PGCE is preferable. Preferably a Teacher’s Licence (NIE certification)
• More than 5 years of teaching experience in a similar or related environment
• Prior experience in teaching English as a Subject
• Demonstrate an acute and deep understanding of a primary/ secondary school curriculum
• Teaching or pedagogical skills
• Passion for developing young learners

Salary Range and Benefits:

• Full time English Language Teacher - $3,200 to $4,200 per month

Job Responsibilities:

• Plan and deliver English composition writing and English language lessons in accordance with the Company's guidelines and framework to achieve desired learning outcomes.
• Mark students' scripts in accordance with the Company's guidelines and rubrics
• Ensure marked scripts are returned in a timely manner.
• Maintain accurate records of students' progress and cater to students' educational needs in a timely manner.
• Be actively involved in the planning and preparation of curriculum and innovation of teaching methodology
• To groom students to love English Language and inspire them to be strong writers.
• To provide timely feedback to parents and address their concerns appropriately.
• To be tasked with 12 classes of various levels (Primary 1 - Secondary 4)

Qualifications:

• Prefer candidates with a degree qualified by a reputable university in a related field (English Language, Linguistics, Arts and Social Sciences, Mass Communications, Humanities, and Law)
• Achieved academic excellence in English, English Literature and General Paper (GP). Please attach your academic certificates for O-Level and A-Level.
• Alternatively, possess at least a Diploma in Education/Teaching or Bachelor’s Degree (any field).
• NIE Trained Teachers or teachers with at least 1 year of relevant teaching experience in established enrichment centres.
• Familiar with the latest MOE syllabus and examination requirements.
• Clear, compelling interpersonal and communication skills.
• Prior experience in teaching English creative writing is an advantage
• Entry-Level candidates with a good relevant degree will be considered. Training will be provided.

The Role

Planning and Delivery

Additional Duties

1. Attend school meetings, parent-teacher conferences, and other events as required.

End-of-Term Re-assessment and Reporting

• At the end of each term, conduct a comprehensive reassessment of each EAL student's progress, both in terms of language acquisition and academic integration.
• Provide written reports to parents detailing progress, challenges, and areas for development, as well as recommendations for continued support.

Minimum Qualifications

• A degree in Education, TESOL, Applied Linguistics, or a related field.
• A recognized teaching qualification, preferably with a specialization in EAL or ESL (e.g., CELTA, DELTA, PGCE).
• Experience teaching EAL or ESL to primary or secondary students, ideally within an international school setting.
• Familiarity with the Cambridge International Curriculum is preferred.
• Experience with WIDA standards and assessments is a significant advantage.
• Proven track record of supporting diverse learners and adapting teaching strategies to meet individual needs.
