About the role

We are looking for a Senior Environmental Designer with sustainable design experience and specialist knowledge in building energy optimisation to consult on projects.

You will be responsible for delivering environmental and sustainability advice on projects for both internal and external clients. This will involve consulting on environmental design, sustainability benchmarking/implementation, daylight & shading design, sustainable systems, materials and waste, with emphasis on building energy optimisation. The AI Engineer as part of the Prudential Corporate AI Lab and Incubator will support the development and run of the global AI sandbox, development of cutting-edge AI solutions, R&D and provide technical guidance and support in AI domain to the teams under incubation that develop AI Products.

The role requires a strong technical background in Data, AI and modern Cloud infrastructure, excellent technical skills, and the ability to collaborate with both internal and external stakeholders across technology, AI and business to deliver impactful AI products. The AI Engineer will work on delivery of high-quality AI products, continues improvement and experimentation and development of Prudential's AI expertise.

Job Description:

Sandbox Platform:

• Assist in the development and maintenance of the AI Lab’s global sandbox platform.
• Ensure the platform is effectively used for experimenting with AI applications.
• Contribute to the continuous improvement of the platform based on user feedback and technological advancements.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate AI solutions into the sandbox environment.
• Provide technical guidance and support to teams using the sandbox for AI product development.

Technical AI Domain Expertise:

• Conduct research and development (R&D) to stay up-to-date with the latest advancements in AI, machine learning, Large Language Model frameworks.
• Provide technical guidance and support in the AI domain to teams under incubation that develop AI products.
• Analyse and interpret data to provide actionable insights and recommendations.

AI Development and Quality:

• Optimize and fine-tune AI models for performance, scalability, and accuracy.
• Assist in the technology aspects of the structured AI product incubation and acceleration program.
• Ensure AI Products and experiments are developed in alignment with Prudential’s core risk, data protection, technology risk management policies, and regulations.
• Contribute to the implementation of rigorous quality assurance processes to maintain the highest standards of AI solutions.
• Work on the delivery of high-quality AI products, continuous improvement, experimentation, and development of Prudential’s AI expertise.

Team Collaboration

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including technology, AI, and business stakeholders, to integrate AI solutions into products and services.
• Work with external partners, including higher education institutions, start-ups, and hyperscale’s expert teams and government agencies.
• Contribute to a culture of innovation, continuous learning, and knowledge sharing within the AI Lab.
• Mentor and guide junior engineers in AI and machine learning best practices

Talent Development and Ecosystem Engagement

• Contribute to the development of AI talent within Prudential through participation in education and training programs.
• Engage with the external AI ecosystem to stay updated with the latest trends and advancements.
• Represent Prudential at industry events and conferences to showcase the company’s AI capabilities.

Who we are looking for:

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, or a related field.
• Proven experience (5 years or more) in developing and deploying AI models and algorithms.
• Strong technical background in data, AI, and modern cloud infrastructure.
• Excellent programming skills in languages such as Python, R.
• Experience with machine learning frameworks and libraries (e.g., LLM frameworks, Computer Vision, NLP frameworks, TensorFlow, PyTorch, scikit-learn).
• Knowledge of data preprocessing, feature engineering, model evaluation, MLOPs, LLMOps techniques
• Familiarity with cloud platforms and services (e.g., AWS, Google Cloud, Azure).
• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail. Strong communication and collaboration skills.

Responsibilities:

• Agree to detailed programmes of work - time chart and representation on site plans
• Check that all necessary drawings and instructions have been given to contractors and authorisations obtained, in accordance with the agreed programme
• Check that materials are ordered in good time and permits OK.
• Check that all construction work is carried out in a safe manner, and that the site is kept secure
• See that requirements of specifications in regard to materials and workmanship are complied with by contractors. This includes sample tests of material and workmanship.
• Watch for faulty workmanship and material incorporated in the works and to issue instructions for rectifications
• Check line and level and layout of structure during erection and that intentions of contract drawings are adhered to
• Check structural slab beam and column sizes and reinforcements placed and that intent of design details are followed
• Keep a record of all measurements and tests and to bring plans into conformity with the work actually executed
• Issue such further instructions and clarifications of details as and when required; and to inform Architect for issuance of Architect's Instruction or Architect's clarification.

Requirements:

• At least 4 to 6 years or more relevant experience in industrial buildings
• A recognised university degree in Civil Engineering
• Able to start in Jan 2025
• Comfortable for Project Site at Tuas South

• Design new solutions or fixes to enhance existing applications using web-enabled development programs using Java, Angular,SQL/Oracle, XML, and similar or other web services and service-oriented tools.
• Development experience with Java, J2EE, Spring, Springboot, Angular
• Strong development skills using Java and Spring Framework.
• Strong RDBMS skills using SQL,Oracle.
• Stron expereince in Angular.JS and Javascript
• Experience in Python development.
• Participate in the final phases of deploying and performance tuning of the application and help identify performance bottlenecks and suggest work-around
• Manage ad-hoc requests and multiple projects simultaneously while operating in a high tempo environment with ever-changing priorities and tasks.
• Proficient with popular frameworks such as Django, Flask, or Pyramid.
• Design, develop and implement new applications, enhancements, and new features to our products
• Prepare accurate and detailed requirement specification documents, user guides, and functional specification documents

• Plan, build and optimize infrastructure setup, design and performance.
• Manage backend information systems, including of virtual machines and virtualization platform, including of network storage, backup, Fibre channel switches.
• In-depth experience in Linux administration. Need to be expert level
• Strong understanding of High Availability setup for Linux/Windows applications (etc. webs, database)
• Strong network fundamentals – IPv4/IPv6 – addressing, NAT, Routing
• Network and Systems troubleshooting and maintenance
• Good to have disaster recovery planning and execution
• Private cloud administration experience is a must – VMWare / Hypervisor
• In-depth experience in DNS, DHCP, Proxies, Linux firewalls & network security is a must.
• Maintain and Administer Security Appliances of different projects
• Design and propose a plan that will improve the hosting service of the Data Center

Responsibilities:

• Assist the project manager with on and off site meeting pertaining to the technical issues
• Responsible for submission of Architectural samples, shops drawing and other related documents to the consultants or authorities
• Coordinate and monitor work progress at site including periodical site inspection and attending meetings during course of construction of project
• Proven problem solving and achievements work progress according to the work schedule
• Site supervision and able to coordinate well with sub-contractors, RE and RTO

Requirements:

• Candidate must at least a Post Graduate Diploma in Civil Engineering or equivalent
• Min 3 years relevant experience in the related field for this position
• Be able to work independently with minimum guidance
• Good team player, keen desire to learn, contribute, advance and progress with the company
