As a Design Engineer, you will report to the Senior Design Engineer and be responsible for the successful implementation and management of BIM processes in the construction field, specifically focusing on Building Services, Airconditioning, and Mechanical (M&E, ACMV) works. You will collaborate closely with the design department to ensure compliance with engineering and safety requirements and coordinate with stakeholders to maintain the integrity and accuracy of the BIM model throughout the project lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities

1. Construct and manage Building Information Models (BIM) with precision, ensuring the integrity and accuracy of all models. Ensure timely coordination and completion of tasks as assigned by the immediate superior.
2. Ensure all BIM models comply with project specifications and requirements.
3. Maintain and update the model library for all ongoing projects, ensuring that all data remains secure and is treated as company property.
4. Collaborate with project teams to collect site information for updating project BIM models.
5. Work closely with the Quantity Surveying department to provide drawings and information required for tendering, cost estimation, monitoring, and scheduling.
6. Coordinate with the BIM department to validate and confirm the accuracy of BIM designs.
7. Maintain, update, and manage hardware and software essential for the operation of BIM.
8. Assist in the creation of 2D AutoCAD drawings and ensure seamless integration between 2D and BIM models, bridging the gap between office and site operations.
9. Ensure all work conforms to the company’s ISO standards.
10. Support the submission of Operation, Maintenance, and Monitoring (OMM) manuals and media presentations using BIM models.
11. Follow the company's responsibility and authority matrix in the execution of duties.
12. Participate in the conceptualization and detailed design of ACMV/HVAC systems, ensuring compliance with local codes and standards, such as Singapore Code of Practice (CP13), SS553, and the Fire Code.
13. Utilize design software to perform thermal load calculations, energy modelling, and system sizing.
14. Prepare design documents including system layouts, schematics, and specifications.

Requirements

DESCRIPTION

The Lead Mechanical Engineer reports to the Project Engineering Manager and shall be responsible for technical compliance with all design requirements and coordination with the necessary Client and Subcontractor’s discipline engineering professionals. The Lead Mechanical Engineer shall ensure that all de-signs comply with the requirements of the Work; that all Work is efficiently and effectively executed in accordance with the criteria, specifications and standards listed in the CONTRACT; and that the designs comply with safe and reasonable standards as accepted within the offshore oil and gas industry. The Lead Mechanical Engineer shall be responsible for his/her scope of work as given below:

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

• Prepare and review key project documentation in executing the complete scope of Topside and Marine engineering scope of work as per the project requirements.
• Responsible for mechanical system design and verification of greenfield/brownfield FPSO projects from concept to detailed engineering phase.
• Ensure review of vendor documentation and assess compliance with FPSO functional specification.
• Ensure that technical compliance with all design requirements is met.
• Prepare and review detailed calculations, analysis, and solutions to deliver safe, secure, and fully functional facilities.
• Provide technical assistance to other design groups assigned to the project.
• Provide support for inspection activities for all topside and marine equipment.
• Interface with Client’s Engineering team to resolve the technical issues.
• Effectively manage design changes and provide optimized solutions during project executions.
• Review and management of project general specifications, engineering procedures and policies.
• Provide work progress reports.
• Accountable for the quality engineering deliverables.
• Achieve safety standards as defined in Project requirements.
• To achieve project completion to the project specifications on schedule.
• Support project planning as necessary.
• Field Engineering support during construction phase of the project.
• Coordinate with class for surveys and reviews related to shipyard work.

REQUIREMENTS

• Able to relocate to Dubai for Project duration, minimum 6 months.
• Minimum educational requirements of a Bachelor’s and/or Master’s degree in mechanical engineering or equivalent.
• Direct experience as a lead engineer working on FPSO projects.
• Minimum 10 years’ experience, with Oil & Gas projects (fixed installations and FPSOs), with significant experience working as a Senior or Lead Engineer.
• Must have prior work experience with medium/ large sized brownfield and/or greenfield projects in the upstream Oil and Gas sector, in a similar role and possess a good understanding of project phases, milestones, deliverables, internal and external interfaces.
• Shall be skilled with commonly used business software applications such MS Office, MS project and drafting software such as AutoCad and 3d modelling software such as inventor or PDMS.
• Shall be capable of supporting the development and implementing recommendations from third party safety studies and workshops, including HAZID/ENVID, SIL Classifications, Smoke, Gas, Fire and Explosion Risk Analyses, QRA, ALARP assessments, Fire and Gas Mappings and Noise Studies.
• Excellent knowledge and hands on experience with international codes & standards like ASME, TEMA, API, AD2000, PD5500, etc.
• Work experience with exotic materials, managing multi office execution, site support experience, etc.

Qualifications:

• Degree or Diploma in Electronics / Electrical Engineering.
• 2–5 years of relevant experience in Product/Test Engineering, with a preference for a foundry process background.
• Strong understanding of test concepts for digital, mixed signal, and RF products.
• Hands-on experience with Advantest 93K ATE is a plus.
• Solid experience with statistics and data mining techniques.
• Strong data analysis skills, with exposure to statistical analysis software such as JMP, CEDA, or DataPower. Knowledge of Optimal Plus tools is a plus.
• Proficiency in scripting languages (Perl, Java, VBA) and automation of reporting processes is advantageous.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to work independently.
