Sustainabilityforms a core research priority for SMU under its Vision 2025 research strategy. Sustainability is also a key focus for SOSS for our undergraduate program in Sustainable Societies as well as the Master of Sustainability (MST) launched in 2024. The new position will form a key part of the plans to consolidate the School of Social Science’s interdisciplinary contribution to research and teaching in sustainability.

Position:

The School of Social Sciences (SOSS) invites applications for (Assistant Professor) tenure track position in Sustainability, with a specific focus on environmental policy and governance, sustainable development, or environmental sociology to begin in July of 2025. The School is particularly interested in environmental social scientists with an established research and teaching repertoire or high potential for scholarly work on topics related to sustainability, including collaborative governance, the water-energy-food nexus, natural resource management, climate institutions and partnerships, and sustainability governance and analytics. Those with a research focus involving Asia are especially encouraged to apply. MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES

• Communication of hotel & company philosophy and internal hotel representation.
