Position: Receptionist cum Administrative Assistant

Employment Type: 2-Year Contract, renewable

Work Location: MOE Schools at Barker Road, Tanglin Road, Compassvale Lane, Upper Serangoon Road, or Yishun Ave 6.

Working Hours: 7.00 am - 4:15 pm or 7.00 am - 4:00 pm or 7.30 am - 4.00 pm or 8.00 am - 4.30 pm or 6.45 am – 4.00 pm

(inclusive of a 30-minute lunch break)

Key Responsibilities

• Professionally handle walk-in visitors, parents, staff, and students at the front desk.
• Manage student-related tasks, including issuing certificates and documents, and supporting their needs as per school guidelines.
• Handle calls, data entry, and documentation such as MOE FAS and leave forms.
• Ensure the availability of stationery, first aid, and office supplies.
• Provide basic first aid to students and coordinate their early dismissal if necessary.
• Monitor and record latecomers, update attendance systems, and manage Ezlink cards.
• Provide logistical and administrative support during major school events like Parent-Teacher Meetings or orientations.
• Maintain an organised system for lost items.
• Execute ad hoc responsibilities such as mail handling, facility bookings, and logistical preparations.

Candidate Requirements

• At least 3 years in a similar role within an MOE school, covering both customer service and administrative tasks.
• Minimum GCE N-Level; GCE O-Level or equivalent with passes in English and Mathematics preferred.
• Open to Singapore Citizens, Permanent Residents, or LTVP/LTVP+ holders.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Strong customer service mindset and professionalism.
• Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
• Basic First Aid knowledge (preferred).

The Metta Home for the Disabled and Metta Home Day Activity Centre (慈光乐陶苑及智障日间活动中心) were set up in December 2000 to offer community care options to adults with intellectual disabilities who are aged between 18 and 55.

Funded by the Ministry of Community Development, Youth and Sports (MCYS), the former is a purpose-built facility designed to accommodate 103 residents, whereas the latter is supported under the MSF and Tote Board Social Service Fund to provide day care services for a capacity of 50 beneficiaries.

Our programmes aim to equip all recipients with the skills and means to lead independent and fulfilling lives, so as to achieve social integration and quality of life. Tending them with holistic care and working closely with their primary caregivers to provide well-rounded support is a multi-disciplinary team comprising a social worker, training officers, staff nurses, assistant nurses, nursing and therapy aides.

As a Driver cum General Assistant, the candidate is responsible in the following areas:

• Fetching clients for daily activities and for medical appointments.
• Assist to take care of clients during outing and medical appointments.
• Maintenance and cleaning of motor vehicles including for inspection and renewal of road tax.
• Collection of donation boxes or donation-in-kind items.
• Assist cleaner in hi-jet cleaning.
• Assisting in landscaping and maintenance tasks.
• Participate and assist during center/external events
• Any other duties as assigned
