Couchbase is hiring a Solutions Engineer for the Singapore and ASEAN region.

We are seeking a Solutions Engineer to support the rapidly growing Couchbase user community and drive customer success. Our Solutions (Pre-Sales) Engineers are the primary technical field experts, responsible for actively driving and managing the technical aspects of a sales engagement. This includes explaining NoSQL advantages, elucidating how Couchbase Server works, and demonstrating how it can solve the customer’s problem. Your role will involve instilling excitement in customers about adopting this new approach for fast and scalable databases.

Responsibilities:

- Guide customers in solving their problems and meeting their requirements with Couchbase Server, generating excitement about NoSQL database technology.

- Collaborate closely with the sales team on account strategy and identify additional opportunities in existing accounts.

- Ensure the success of customer PoC/Pilots through effective management of acceptance criteria and issue escalation/resolution.

- Develop and deliver outstanding company/product presentations and demonstrations.

- Engage with technical professionals at all levels, from managers to architects and developers, and explain Couchbase Server and its applications.

- Serve as the technical product expert for customers and stay current on the NoSQL competitive landscape.

- Collaborate with Product Management and Engineering, providing feedback from the field and representing the customer perspective.

- Identify and produce internal and external technical collateral, such as typical deployment architectures or best practices.

Preferred Qualifications:

- 4+ years of pre-sales engineering experience for enterprise back-end software.

- 2+ years of experience with RDBMS, including schema modeling, performance tuning, and configuration.

- Excellent presentation skills, with the ability to present technical solutions concisely to customers or potential customers.

- Experience engaging with developers.

- Passion for delving into technical issues and solving customer problems.

- Proactive in engaging with customers.

- Familiarity with NoSQL databases or other distributed high-performance systems is a significant plus, but not required.

- BS in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent experience.

Job Requirements

• Bachelor's degree Any Engineering or related field and five (5) years of experience in the job offered or related role.
• Must have three (4) years of experience in Cloud : Containers; delivering presentations to technical, management, and executive levels; OpenShift Administrator; Linux; and Cloud platforms.
• 5+ years sales or delivery experience for an enterprise software, SaaS, cloud provider or consulting organization.
• Experience with one of the major cloud service provider(CSP) technologies, including but not limited to AWS, Azure, GCP etc.

Job Roles and responsibilities:

• Deep understanding of the Red Hat OpenShift cluster, container, and Platform-as-a-Service (PaaS) space assisting in cluster builds, deployments, and administration in Cloud
• Good Network
• Good in Firewall, Router and other network device Management
• Configure and manage networking within the cluster such as set up service definitions, configuring networking policies, and ensuring that applications can communicate with each other both within and outside the cluster.
• Provide L3 support for Red Hat OCP, which includes change, system administration, performance and availability management.
• Provide deployment support and fixes of Red Hat OCP configuration and implementation.
• Experience in Cloud computing platforms such as AWS, including EC2, S3, Lambda, Glue and RDS
• Execute the multi-cloud strategy and achieve the milestones for cloud adoptions in alignment with technical strategies for organization
• Support enterprise customers, implementing automated and containerized cloud application platform solutions
• Hands-on experience in working with Kafka ecosystem (Kafka Brokers, Kafka Connect, Zookeeper), Kafka administration, configuration, and troubleshooting

Responsibilities:

• Provide technical support to escalations / cases relating to Network/ VM Systems, and document the escalation and resolution

• Provide troubleshooting and technical support via phone, web-based tools, and email.

• Provide 2nd level and up support for NOC and product team

• Provide Level 2 or 3 product and solution support

• Deployment of servers, workstations and network equipment (e.g. Microsoft Windows, Linux/UNIX Systems, Virtualization, Security and Application Management Solutions) network, endpoint and server solutions (eg, Network, Systems and Security Monitoring Systems, NGFW, IPS, IDS, SIEM, Routers, Network/Security Analysis Tools etc)

• Be Subject Matter Expert in assigned product categories

• Project manage deployment of IT solutions

• Presales Support for IT solution

Requirements:

• Minimum Bachelor holder in IT/ Communications Engineering

• Possesses at least 5 years of related Windows/NOC, network/server/endpoint support experience

• Experience in IT infrastructure management tools

• An up-to-date knowledge and understanding of business and industry needs as well as the technical demands

• Recognition of the importance of customer focus and/or of serving the needs of the end user

• Excellent communication skills, particularly the ability to communicate with staff who are not technically trained

• The skill to take on a variety of tasks and pay attention to detail

• Analytical and problem-solving ability
