Overview:

The Asst. Manager will assist to lead and support the budget team day-to-day operational activities, enabling the team to dedicate more time to optimizing processes and driving efficiency.

Responsibilities:

• Assist in routine financial operations, including reporting, budgeting, and forecasting tasks.
• Support ad-hoc financial requests and data preparation for strategic decision-making.
• Approve FastPay collections link submission for students’ activities and provide support.

Requirements

The Senior Finance Executive supports the finance department in carrying out the responsibilities of the finance department. He/she is involved in work that is specific to accounts receivable, accounts payable, tax filing, data compilation, billing, or other accounting tasks. In some instances, he may work specifically with accruals, fixed assets accounting or the monthly and yearly finalisation of accounts for audit purposes. The Finance Executive may also assist with the preparation of trial balance, basic financial statements and simple consolidated financial statements. He may be called on to participate in ad-hoc finance-related projects and systems testing when necessary.

ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES

· Perform month-end closing activities Maintain accurate financial records and statements

· Record and process all business transactions in the accounting system

· Record transactions and events relating to sales, purchases, receivables, payables and cash

· Record transactions and events relating to inventory, accruals, prepayments, capital structure and finance costs

· Enter accurate data into the accounting system

· Use relevant Infocomm technology systems and tools effectively for data analysis

Job Description

You shall work under the direction of the Finance Manager. Your key responsibilities include:

Financial Management

• Responsible for finance functions including month-end and year-end closing.
• Maintain partial or full set of accounts, including audit schedules.
• Maintain full set of accounts across LCSS’s programmes and student care centres, including maintaining general ledger
• Process vendor payments and staff claims.
• Cashflow management to support operational needs.
• Prepare and submit quarterly GST reports in compliance to statutory requirements.
• Ensures compliance with audit and statutory requirements.
• Reporting for government grants and funding received.
• Process donations and issue tax-deductible receipts for qualifying contributions.
• Monitor and manage fixed deposits and other investments.

Management Reporting

• Prepare periodic management reports to support management’s decision-making.

Administrative and Corporate Governance

• Support compliance with charity regulations, governance standards, and internal policies.

• Undertake any additional duties or ad-hoc projects as assigned by the CEO or Deputy Director, Corporate Services.

The desired candidate should be/possess

• Diploma or Degree in Accounting or related field, or equivalent relevant qualifications.
• Minimum 2 to 3 years of relevant experience, with experience in the social services sector preferred but not necessary.
• Familiarity with Singapore Charity Accounting Standards and Corporate Governance for Charities.
• Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., MYOB).
• Proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel (including VLOOKUP functions).
• Strong attention to detail.
