The Role

As the Research Senior Associate / Research Analyst, you will work closely with the Play Ventures investment team to explore new markets, uncover investment opportunities and support our strategic efforts. You will be starting up the research function within Play Ventures which gives you the opportunity to build a team around you in the future if and when the need arises. You’ll also be instrumental in deepening our understanding of the gaming and consumer ecosystem and adjacent spaces, from emerging technologies to innovative business models. You Will

• Research and analyze markets to identify trends and opportunities related to our current investment focus, and help to identify potential future interest areas
• Evaluate companies, products and technologies that will help inform our investment strategy, creating concise market maps and actionable insights.
• Support the investment team in developing investment theses, conducting research on companies, including competitive analysis and expert interviews, case studies, etc.
• Stay up-to-date on global affairs and industry developments, surfacing key insights and sharing knowledge across the team which may include creating reports for internal and external sharing, presentations, workshops, etc.

You Need

• 3-5+ years of experience in market research, consulting, investment analysis or a related role
• Experience with research and analysis tools including PitchBook, Crunchbase, Newzoo, Sensor Tower, Preqin, Bloomberg, Dow Jones and Excel for market analysis, competitive insights and data visualization.
• A strong interest in gaming, consumer tech or emerging technologies.
• Ability to approach and lead research on a market or segment of interest both from a top-down approach and a bottom-up approach, with minimal direction and instruction
• Analytical and robust quantitative and qualitative research skills.
• Strong communication skills with the ability to synthesize complex data into clear insights and collaborate effectively in a distributed team.
• Self-motivation and entrepreneurial spirit, with the ability to drive and manage multiple priorities independently.

Role Description Summary:

The position is to provide supports to Client Onboarding terms of opening new accounts, KYC reviews.

The role requires working in close collaboration with AML, Compliance, ORM, and Front Office & Legal.

Roles and Responsibilities:

• Provide expert advice to Client Advisors on complex account structures and KYC/AML cases the business is confronted with.
• Act as sparring partner for Client Advisors in all AML / KYC related topics.
• Support and advice Client Advisors in completing the KYC information in line with the Bank Group standards.
• Oversee and monitor the entire KYC process including coming due and overdue KYC cases.
• Training of Front office staff on legal documents and KYC related subjects
• To enhance Client risk assessments and various MIS reports for management reporting to facilitate review in managing risk and strengthening the control procedures and processes.
• To understand the Bank Global KYC/ AML Standards, Account Documentation procedures, Local Laws and Regulations and implement related control processes.
• Escalation of operational, regulatory, and other risks to line manager and functional leads as appropriate; contributes to the development and implementation of mitigation or control solutions.
• Involved in design and implementation of strategies to ensure continuous process with the WM COO and Change functions to scope and define change projects to deliver process and performance improvement.

Qualifications:

• Degree majoring in Banking, Accountancy or Business Administration or related discipline preferred.
• Knowledgeable and experienced in operations, account documentation, risk management, Sophisticated AML/KYC knowledge and experience in banking or financial industry for at least 2 years.
• Ability to develop a good knowledge of the customer base, with sensitivity to specific customer needs.

Responsibilities
Perform the business support analyst role for a strategic project of medium complexity and
scale.
· Work closely with IT project team and internal stakeholders to ensure timely & successful
system delivery.
· Document business direction, structure, business processes and requirements.
· Interact internally to determine involvement, requirements, analysis and interfaces with the
users.
· Assist in the collection and consolidation and analyze required information and data.
· Participate in the definition, testing, training, implementation, and support of processes and
systems.
· Identify areas of potential business risk and communicate these to the business.
· Validate and report production errors to IT for resolution. Work with IT to ensure timely and
successful resolution of production errors.
· Writing, modifying and implementing efficient codes.
· Compilation of monthly report and minutes of meeting.
