About the Role
We are seeking an experienced, hands-on leader who is both growth-oriented and strategic.
Since its establishment in October 2021, TomoWork has grown significantly, with 9 Board Members and 9 full-time employees. Our HR/Finance, Programme, Fundraising, and Marketing teams have all played a pivotal role in expanding our impact on the PWD community to advance our mission. Additionally, since attaining charity status in October 2022, we have focused on strengthening our governance and successfully achieved IPC status on 1 July 2024, within approximately two years.
As the Assistant Director of HR, Finance, and Governance, you will play a key role in elevating HR practices with a focus on career engagement, leveraging the strengths of our staff to guide TomoWork in becoming a trusted charity that fulfils its mission. We are committed to enhancing HR capabilities, ensuring sound and transparent financial management, and upholding strong governance to promote accountability, ethical practices, and trust while maximising our impact.
Key Responsibilities
Financial Management
-Provide strategic leadership and hands-on financial management for the organisation’s administrative and operational functions, ensuring alignment with its mission, objectives, and policies.
-Serve as a bridge between the Finance Committee and the senior management team, delivering timely advice and fostering effective communication to enhance team performance.
-Drive daily financial operations, oversee Board-approved budgets, and manage financial activities to maximise resource utilisation and strengthen the organisation’s financial position.
-Assume responsibilities as the AML/CFT Officer, ensuring compliance with all regulations and implementing robust policies and procedures to safeguard the organisation.
HR
-Develop and implement HR strategies and initiatives that align with the organisation’s mission, objectives, and policies.
-Act as a bridge between the NHC Committee and the senior management team, providing timely advice and promoting effective communication to enhance team performance.
-Oversee daily HR operations, ensuring compliance with legal requirements across all aspects of human resource management.
-Foster a collaborative culture that reflects and supports the organisation’s mission
Governance & Reporting
-Ensure compliance with relevant laws and governance requirements, maintaining transparency, clarity, and openness in all governance reporting, ensuring the organisation retains its IPC status.
-Oversee the e-filing of Annual Return and Accounts with ACRA, manage annual submissions to the Commissioner of Charities, and coordinate engagement with the corporate secretary.
-Ensure proper maintenance of secretarial records, including minutes and resolutions.
-Manage the Annual General Meeting (AGM) and members' and directors' resolutions.
-Oversee the annual Risk Management operations.
Data Protection Officer
-Ensure the organisation complies with data protection laws and regulations.
-Identify, assess, and mitigate data protection risks, ensuring appropriate safeguards are in place.
-Provide training and awareness programs for staff on data protection principles, policies, and procedures annually.
Job Requirement
