Over the last decade, Conservation International (CI) has developed a comprehensive program with a focus on the conservation and restoration of blue carbon ecosystems (mangroves, salt marshes, and seagrasses), grounded in their mitigation, adaptation, and climate resilience value. The International Blue Carbon Institute (IBCI) is committed to advancing the science and support systems essential for realizing the full potential of blue carbon in combating climate change, conserving biodiversity, and providing critical support to threatened coastal communities. Through collaboration with governments, scientists, organizations, and local communities, the IBCI aims to develop and disseminate efficient policies, financing, and implementation strategies for blue carbon ecosystems across three key areas: research and science innovation, developing multi-disciplinary capacity in blue carbon, and creating global networks to implement blue carbon programs and projects.

The Finance Manager, International Blue Carbon Institute supports financial, and administrative functions of the International Blue Carbon Institute. They manage and support financial reporting to provide management with timely and relevant financial information to make informed decisions. The Finance Manager ensures that sound donor and grant management policies and practices are adopted and implemented. They develop budgets and revenue forecasts and support the development of strategic plans as they impact operation functions. They also support fundraising efforts including developing cost proposals and performing donor assessments.

The Manager does not directly manage staff. Duties are performed under general supervision.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Financial Management

· Manage the cross-cutting IBCI budget and ensure timely and accurate financial reporting, working closely with finance staff in the Asia Pacific Field Division, Center for Oceans, and Center for Natural Climate Solutions. Job Responsibilities

Systems office for Asia (ASO) seeks a strong candidate to manage APAC region-wide IT finance (~US$150M), meeting our bank-wide and IT focused organizational demands and objectives.

He/she pursues our cost transformation initiatives by enhancing the design of Financial and Management Accounting Processes and frameworks.

He/she is expected to drive the strong leadership to transform our control mechanism by implementing the industry led financial tools, with a deep understanding of our underlying process.

He/she is expected to have a strong, collaborative relationship and work with respective regional leadership teams including IT development teams, Project teams, procurement department and branch representatives to effectively manage the overall IT finance across APAC. This extends to the close communication with Head Office IT finance team in Tokyo, Japan to understand and meet their expectations.

This role acts as IT Finance director, providing a timely update to our APAC CIO, APAC regional executive as well as Global senior executives to propose and suggest the financial aspects upon making the organizational judgement and directions.

1. Understand and align with bank’s global as well as APAC regional IT cost strategy.

Lead IT finance team as a director position. IT finance includes to manage investment (CAPEX) and expense (OPEX) budget allocated by the global head quarter to maximize our APAC IT capabilities.

2. Budget planning

Logical analysis and persuasive discussion with all the stakeholders are expected. For CAPEX budget management, prioritize and optimize initiatives by evaluating necessity, ROI, and business strategies. For OPEX budget management, establish a comprehensive budget covering various expenses through collaboration with stakeholders using both top-down and bottom-up approaches. Aim for cost optimization in line with the bank-wide competitive cost mindset.

3. Financial reporting and analysis through the fiscal year

Assess the monthly budget utilization progress, and expect the candidate to put the effective strategy across APAC countries to ensure the organization uses the allocated budget wisely enough to maximize our benefit for both OPEX and CAPEX budget.

4. Process automation and analytical data assessment

Currently ASO involves primitive spreadsheet control to gather financial data and to provide the analysis on the data. Considering the growing demands of various dimensional views, analytical tool as well as streamlined process are expected. To reflect ASO organization finance status, expect the candidate to provide strong leadership to achieve this process transformation.

Job Requirements

• Min. 15 years of finance management experience focusing in IT sections.
• Experience in establishment of framework, process, procedures for the organization
• Finance qualification (such as chartered accountants certification) is required.
• Skills and proven track record of hands-on experience as well as delivering the outcome under uncertainty and pressure.
• Growing mindset, collaborative skills with senior stakeholders are expected.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage the Month-end Close process for Singapore in accordance with the GSK Finance Manual and provide timely financial analysis.
• Responsible for highlighting monthly and latest estimate performance variances and recommending remedial actions to Business Unit Directors to achieve business goals.
• Provide insightful financial and business input to decision making and evaluation of strategic options to optimize resource allocation and ROI.
• Support the preparation of the forecasts, plan and align the business in the delivery of the annual Plan for Singapore. Execute the monthly commercial forecast process and value generation thereafter, as well as annual budgets for Singapore LT reviews.
• Oversee product analysis /profitability for sales /marketing decisions. Review credit control policies & working capital to maximize cash flow.
• Conduct launch scenario analysis for new product pipeline / government subsidy for Singapore and assess their impact on financial targets and long-term profitability.
• Conduct scenario and sensitivity analysis on existing portfolio for pricing / tier changes and their impact on financial targets.
• Support in the digital transformation for Singapore LOC ensuring smooth transition to new systems like SAC, OMP, pricing tool etc. and ensure Digital Brand strategy of GCI is implemented in Singapore with the help of BU leads.
• Support in Planning activities for GCI region & Singapore LOC including MYQ, LQE, Plan, Flip, Latest estimates & Rollover. Support in presentations, offline templates as well as ad hoc analysis for Planning Cycle.
• Support CCC process from Finance for GCI & Singapore including reviewing monthly CCC for markets and preparing gap analysis.
• Support MPR process for region reviews with Segment every month with necessary analytics as required by Finance Director and VP, Finance.

• Min 7 years of experience in a finance role with a multinational environment
• Experience in accounting, model analysis, evaluation, forecasting and strategic planning.

Preferred Qualifications

If you have the following characteristics, it would be a plus:

• Finance experience related to Core Commercial Cycle, Manufacturing and Commercial preferred e.g. Finance Partnering experience.
• Internationally recognized MBA or Finance qualification
• Pharmaceutical industry experience preferred.
• Demonstrated ability to influence and lead discussions with Senior Leaders.
• Effective options analysis, scenario planning and decision making.
• Good knowledge of GSK Finance standards, systems, and processes.
