Our client is looking for an Assistant Finance Manager to assist with financial reporting and accounting tasks across various projects. The role requires the ability to analyze and understand operational data to provide valuable insights that support decision-making and process improvements.
The ideal candidate will have strong collaboration skills, a solid foundation in financial and analytical techniques, keen attention to detail, and experience managing large data sets. Proficiency in Excel and other reporting tools is essential for success in this role.
Job description
· Finance focal point for portfolio reporting including P&L, cashflow and reserves reporting.
· Set up the financial and project structure required to facilitate management reporting based on the metrics needed.
· Implement effective tracking and monitoring mechanism to provide financial status updates in different dimensions to meet the needs of both internal and external stakeholders.
· Lead the annual budgeting exercise for the portfolio, including gathering inputs and performing reasonableness assessment on the budget.
· Effectively manage financial responsibilities and decision making in a changing environment.
· Produce clear and concise financial / presentation decks to provide analytical insights to internal and external stakeholders or to address adhoc issues.
· Lead and participate in cross functional collaboration with other departments.
· Process planning and improvement to help streamline portfolio finance processes.
· Any other matters as assigned by the reporting officer
Requirement
· Good degree in Accountancy or ACCA qualification, with minimum 6 years of relevant working experience in the Big 4 audit firms and commercial firms (combined).
· This role requires a self-starter with strong analytical skills, attention to detail and ability to manage and prioritise across several ongoing tasks.
· Strong communication and stakeholder management skills to be able to manage both internal and external stakeholders.
· Ability to be clear and concise in thought process and communication to enable effective stakeholder management.
· Advanced proficiency with Excel, power pivot or similar tools and comfortable working with large data sets.
· Need to be curious and has keen interest to deep dive into financials to shed light on the projects.
· Ability to think logically and always challenging yourself to provide value added support to your stakeholders.
· Highly motivated and resourceful individual who is able to work effectively independently.
· Enjoys teamwork and actively contributes to our talented team
Preferred requirements
· Proficiency with use of SAP, Power BI and Tableau.
· Experience in managing project finance matters for large projects in IT companies.
· Familiarity with the healthcare and/ or IT industry.
