Job Description

Job Description

• Process accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions accurately and in a timely manner
• Maintain accurate records of financial transactions, including invoices, payments, and receipts
• Prepare and process employee expense reimbursements
• Assist with bank reconciliation
• Monthly closing of AP accounts and reconciliation with vendors’ statements
• Manage vendor/customer master data
• Preparation and posting of monthly provision for closing
• Ensure proper and systematic filing arrangement is done in a timely and accurate manner

Job Summary

We are seeking a Finance & Accounting Manager to lead a small team in managing financial processes. The ideal candidate will be knowledgeable in budgeting, forecasting, and compliance. This role involves collaboration with external auditors and tax consultants, as well as overseeing financial operations and accounting functions.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage a team of two to oversee financial processes, including weekly payments, collections, and month-end/year-end closings.
• Review reconciliation schedules, journal entries, invoices, payment listings, cashflow analyses, and GST/VAT reporting.
• Spearhead budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis processes.
• Collaborate with various departments to resolve accounting-related issues.
• Ensure compliance with internal controls and financial procedures.
• Liaise with external auditors, corporate secretaries, bankers, and tax consultants as needed.
• Identify opportunities for process improvements and enhancements in internal controls and data automation.
• Assist with new processes and system implementations as required.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• At least 5 years’ relevant experience, including 2 years in a managerial role.
• CPA, ACCA, or equivalent certification preferred.
• Strong understanding of financial processes, reporting standards, and GST/VAT regulations.
• Experience in budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis.
• Proven ability to manage external stakeholders (auditors, bankers, tax consultants).

Administration

• Conduct validation and appointment exercises in accordance with the business rules.

Job Qualifications

• Diploma or Degree in any field with 2 – 3 years’ relevant experience.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Skills: MS Excel (Pivot Tables, Formula), MS Word, PowerPoint.
• Proficiency in VBA & Insurance industry experience, is a plus.
• Great interpersonal skills and enjoy working in a team.
• Excellent communication skills (both verbal and written) to interact with stakeholders.
• Meticulous to ensure accuracy of deliverables & good with processes.
• Able to manage multiple priorities effectively in a fast-paced environment.
• Able to work effectively under pressure with tight timeline.
