1. Financial Management and Reporting

• Responsible for budgeting, financial planning including cash flow management and analysis of the financial performance of the group

- To be responsible for managing day-to-to-today activities in treasury and corporate functions to meet the financial and regulatory obligations of the group.

Duties and Responsibilities

Treasury

• To perform a broad range of treasury functions which includes cash management; bank loan management including rollovers, drawdown and compliance.

With a strong presence in Asia and a commitment to excellence, the company is expanding its operations and seeking an experienced Senior Finance Manager to lead its finance function.

Role Overview

Reporting directly to senior management, the Senior Finance Manager will be a key strategic partner, overseeing the financial health of the organization. This role is critical for ensuring robust financial controls, compliance with regulatory standards, and supporting business growth through strategic insights. Candidates with experience in the commodities sector, particularly in petrochemicals, fuel oil, or oil, will find this role both challenging and rewarding.

Key Responsibilities

• Strategic Financial Management:
• Develop and implement financial strategies to support the company’s objectives.
• Provide financial insights and recommendations to drive business growth and profitability.
• Financial Reporting & Analysis:
• Prepare, review, and analyze financial statements to ensure accuracy and compliance.
• Lead budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis to support decision-making.
• Risk Management & Compliance:
• Ensure compliance with local and international financial regulations.
• Manage relationships with external auditors, tax advisors, and regulatory authorities.
• Treasury & Cash Flow Management:
• Oversee cash flow, working capital, and liquidity management.
• Optimize banking relationships and manage hedging strategies related to commodities trading.
• Team Leadership:
• Lead and mentor a small finance team to ensure operational excellence.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including trading, operations, and risk management.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field (CPA, CA, or CFA is highly preferred).
• Experience in a Commodities firm is Mandatory.
• Minimum of 8 - 10 years of relevant experience, with at least 5 years in a managerial role in the commodities sector (e.g., petrochemicals, fuel oil, or oil trading).
• Big 4 experience will be highly valued.
• Strong understanding of commodity trading financial dynamics, including P&L, mark-to-market (MTM) accounting, and risk management.
• Proficiency in financial software systems and advanced Excel skills.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with tight deadlines.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage financial oversight and directly prepare quarterly, semi-annual, and yearly financial reports.
• Address tax-related inquiries, including corporate income, property, and withholding taxes, and understand tax agreement applications in local and international contexts.
• Communicate with tax authorities in Singapore, Malaysia, and Indonesia regarding relevant tax matters.
• Ensure compliance with FATCA, OFAC, and global tax reporting requirements (CBCR).
• Update and draft internal control protocols.
• Process and approve banking transactions, respond to bank inquiries and negotiate contracts.
• Carry out financial consolidation tasks for joint ventures, associates, and related parties.
• Oversee the management of a large volume of fixed assets and deferred taxes.
• Prepare detailed financial statements and assist with audit-related documentation.
• Handle obligations related to the Economic Development Board (EDB) and Singapore statistical reporting (SingStat).
• Manage both internal and external audits.
• Oversee the processing and approval of daily financial transactions.
• Apply in-depth knowledge of International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS), Singapore Financial Reporting Standards (SFRS), and Income Tax Acts (ITA).
