ING APAC is one of the large Wholesale Banking (WB) regions in ING. APAC is ING's key growth region and is adding more WB clients and products with ambitious revenue targets.
Our Wholesale Banking business is present and active in 11 major economies in the APAC, namely Australia, China, Hong Kong SAR, India, Indonesia, Japan, Philippines, Singapore, South Korea, Taiwan and Vietnam.
ING Wholesale Banking in Singapore
We began operating in Singapore in 1987 where we host the regional APAC headquarters. With over 600 staff, we are the largest wholesale banking branch in APAC. Our Wholesale Banking (WB) strategy is about becoming a more client-centric business and ensuring we stay at the forefront of evolving trends that shape the banking industry.

Your Role
The Strategic Finance role is a function that brings together the key elements of Strategy and Finance to drive transformation, digitalization, as well as business growth and returns. As part of the Senior Finance team, you will support the Asia CFO and Regional Finance Head to work on Strategic Finance, transformation, digitalization initiatives and projects across business and finance.
Your role will lead Strategic Finance, transformation, digitalization initiatives including but not limited to driving optimization projects on costs and capital consumption, providing value added analytical deep dives and presentations, and delivering finance digital and process transformational projects as well as streamlining and enhancing Management reports. In addition, this role includes asset ownership for our internal ING Regulatory Reporting systems.
You are strongly result-oriented and have sound knowledge and experience in the financial sector. You are detailed orientated yet capable of approaching issues from both analytical and strategic perspective. You are independent, resilient, and like to work on various multiple tasks and whilst pro-actively managing multiple stakeholders.
Your most important tasks will include:
- Recharges: Creating a governance and analytical framework across APAC to manage recharges from Head Office to APAC and branches.
- Balance sheet / RWA optimization and business returns: Leading balance sheet and RWA optimization projects with the goal to enhance business returns.
- Analysis: Perform deep dives into financial topics or strategic areas to drive business decision making.
- Advice: You are a strategic business partner who independently identifies areas for improvement, prepares analysis and presents the outcomes to stakeholders.
- Drive finance innovation projects and accelerate the team’s digital transformation with the goal to standardize and streamline finance processes and improve efficiency and quality of information distributed across APAC.
- Regulatory Reporting: As asset owner, you have one project manager supporting you to work closely with the regulatory reporting teams across ING to ensure that we keep up to date with regulatory changes and requirements.

In addition, you are and have:
- Minimum 12 years of relevant working experience; Experience working in teams, with strong knowledge of key finance processes.
- Product and accounting knowledge of wholesale banking products is preferred.
- Strong analytical, problem solving, project management skills with demonstrated proficiency in managing multiple projects simultaneously.
- Strong English written and oral communication skills with proven success in influencing business decisions.
- Proficiency in MS Excel. Excel Macro, PowerBI, Tableau and Python working knowledge would be advantageous.
- Proven ability to build strong relationships and collaborate across a cross-functional team and influence senior leaders.
- Strong team player, self-starter and motivator, capable of working independently with minimal supervision.
- Successful candidate will be results focused, with high energy, flexible and with good work prioritization skills.
