• Maintain financial records, compliance with risk management
• Provide financial insights and analysis to support strategic decision-making
• Responsible and liaise with banker’s and legal associates for business development
• Partner with other departments to optimize resource allocation and cost management
• In-charge and process of Bill of Lading and Letters of Credit for grain businesses
• Assist to senior management related to business operations
• Prepare and file quarterly GST returns. Liaise with tax agents to ensure timely filing of annual tax returns
• Ensure adherence to all relevant internal controls. Drive continuous improvement in financial processes and procedures
• Liaise with external auditors on annual financial audits and ensure audited accounts are filed with ACRA on time
• Oversee and participate in ad-hoc finance projects as needed
• Lead, mentor, and develop a team of HR and Finance staffs. Foster a positive and collaborative work environment

Job Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting or a related field. ACCA or an equivalent professional qualification is preferred
• Minimum 13 years of experience as a finance professional
• Must have experience in the shipping industry and knowledge of Bill of Lading and vessel costing knowledge
• Ability to communicate and dealing with overseas business clients and preparation of daily reporting to Head Office in Korea.
• Proficiency in both written and verbal communication in English and Korean, enabling effective collaboration with native Korean-speaking stakeholders and comprehension of Korean-language documents.
• Detailed, meticulous and able to work with a tight timeline
• Proficiency in ERP financial software system is a must
• Good interpersonal and communication skills
• Strong leadership and supervisory skills
• Strong analytical, critical thinking and problem-solving skills
• Ability to work in a fast – paced and at times stressful environment

This role reports to the Managing Director and offers the opportunity to shape the firm’s financial strategy, ensure sound financial operations, and enhance project profitability. Additionally, you will oversee certain business functions to ensure smooth business operations.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and implement financial strategies that align with the firm's growth objectives.
• Oversee daily financial operations, including accounts receivable, accounts payable, and project performance.
• Monitor and optimize cash flow, working capital, and credit facilities.
• Collaborate with project leads to create a financially literate and accountable culture.
• Manage cross-border financial transactions.
• Support broader administrative functions that ensure the business’s operational continuity.
• Translate financial insights into actionable recommendations for the Executive Committee and non-finance stakeholders.

Qualifications & Experience:

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field; CPA or CFA preferred.
• Proven track record in Managerial Accounting and/or Finance leadership roles within professional services, the built environment, or project-based businesses.
• Experience dealing with international clients and cross-border payments; familiarity with Chinese government clients is a strong bonus.
• Excellent communication skills, with the ability to explain financial concepts to non-financial professionals.
• Demonstrated ability to handle corporate governance and administrative functions related to business compliance.
