Daily Operations

• Responsible for implementing and maintaining a safe, cost-effective and environmentally sound operation standard in compliance with OSM Thome as well as International Marine regulations for a given number of vessels.

• To manage the daily operation of the number of vessels assigned to him in accordance with OSM Thome & Best Practice.

• Advise Masters/Chief Engineers and Ship Staff on

· Cargo & tank/hold

· Port operations

· Anchoring & mooring operations

· Technical/Engine room operations

· Port, passage & war information, insurance coverage for all vessels

• Follow up the on-board maintenance system (BASSnet), monitor the status and act on overdue items.

• Evaluate and monitor the required reporting from the vessels, act as required and inform other office sections and external bodies as is relevant.

• Follow up class and statutory certification status, condition of class and arrange for the necessary surveys and inspections (flag state, certification for Panama Canal etc.)

Shipboard inspections

• Visit vessels regularly (at least three times a year, including a short sailing visit). On each visit, a Superintendent Visit Report is to be completed and left onboard. Following inspections needs to be conducted during these inspections

• Prepare a Vessel Visit Executive Summary for each Shipboard attendance

• All Audit & Inspection Reports need to be filed/updated in Common drives or Database as applicable. Follow up with vessels/office to close the deficiencies noted during these visits.

Oil Major/CDI & Other Commercial Inspections

• Maintain strict cost control of the Annual Operating Budget for each of the assigned vessels.

• Liaise with the Insurance Manager (or Principals) in H&M claims handling. Provide technical input, and cost information, if required, for P&I claims (cargo and crew) and H&M claims.

Crewing

• Make performance evaluations of Masters/ Chief Engineers assigned to the vessel under supervision.

• Provide input to the Manning Department on recruitment of Senior Officers for the assigned vessels.

Dry Docking & Repairs

• Plan, manage, monitor and execute vessels repairs, dry dockings and conversions within agreed budgets.

• Arrange and follow up repairs and services.

• Coordinate with the assigned vessels and prepare the dry-docking specification in conjunction with Docking Superintendent, Fleet Services. Submit the specification to yards for quotations, evaluate the received quotations and present them to the Fleet Group Manager and/or Chief Operating Officer for review.

• Attend the dry-docking, discuss shipyard invoicing before presenting same to the Fleet Group Manager and/or Chief Operating Officer for approval.

Support the local Head of Trust Services (Private Clients) in his/her overall duties, including but not limited to, overseeing the daily client administration, operational aspects, ongoing regulatory and compliance oversight, business development efforts, and motivating the team.

To support and mentor the Trust Services team including assisting with ongoing client responsibilities, in addition to supporting with the management of the Group.

Guide, motivate and oversee the Trust officers and managers to ensure excellence in client delivery, within agreed timelines whilst esteeming appropriate risk mitigation.

Support and ensure performance targets of the Private Clients team are on track and motivating.

To manage the day-to-day administration of the Private Client team specifically covering a varied and complex portfolio of trust structures, and to maintain a wide knowledge and understanding of trust and corporate administration generally, to include money laundering, compliance and relevant legislation.

Acquire a thorough understanding of the structures used by clients and the reasons for so doing.

Act as Director and/or bank account signatory for Private Clients client companies

Act as Resident Manager for Ocorian Singapore Trust Company

Act as Data Protection Officer (DPO) for investment holding companies underlying Trust structures where appropriate.

Foster close working relationships with other service and support lines in the local office and Group.

To ensure absolute compliance with KYC procedures whilst maintaining knowledge of the client business and operational workloads.

Work closely with Business Development and Subject-Matter-Experts (SMEs) with the on-boarding of new business within the Group.

To ensure prompt billing and cash collection are carried out effectively and in a timely manner.

Any other such duties that would be reasonably required for this role.

Qualifications

Knowledge, skills and experience

An enhanced level of technical knowledge to include more complex areas of trust services, investments, accounting and tax legislation and regulation. This includes Discretionary trust, Reserved Power Trust, Revocable/Irrevocable Trust, Private Trust Company (PTC), etc.

Relevant professional qualification (ACCA, ICSA or STEP preferred) together with a minimum of eight years relevant experience in the trust industry.

3-5 years of experience in management level or managing teams.

Excellent organisational and client management skills, together with full knowledge of current company and trust legislation, and the local regulatory environment. This includes a high level of awareness of risk factors and compliance procedures.

Professional manner with the ability to relate to persons at all levels, and to identify client's needs, responding to these quickly and effectively.

Excellent people management skills to include high level of integrity, excellent written and oral communication skills, and the ability to multi-task.

Good organisational and people management skills, together with a thorough understanding of client issues within the Group.

Self-motivation and proactive skills, coupled with good interpersonal and communication skills essential to maintain and develop strong relationships with existing and potential clients.

Good interpersonal skills, with flexibility to attend after-hours functions where relevant.

Thorough knowledge and understanding of Ocorian’s strategy, procedures and policies, compliance and technical issues to enable you to act as role model for peer group and junior staff.

Ability to communicate in Mandarin with Chinese-speaking clients

Job Responsibilities :

• Perform banking services and attend to clients’ inquiries
• Prepare KYC reports and other periodic reports
• Review and assist in risk attribute assessments
• Assist in dealing with client’s trade orders and cross check for other CSM’s trade orders
• Support Team Head in management duties

Job Requirements :

• Minimum a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration/Banking and Finance or any relevant discipline
• 5-8 years’ experience in financial industry
• Good knowledge of relevant financial products
• CACS, CFA preferred
• Effectively bilingual in English and Mandarin as the role requires communication with Chinese speaking colleagues in Hong Kong and Taiwan
