Team Summary

Visa is looking for a Financial Crime Analyst based in Singapore to be part of Currencycloud’s Asia Pacific (APAC) New Business Onboarding team. Currencycloud is part of Visa Group entities and covers Visa’s regulated payment business within Money Movement Solutions (MMS) in APAC. Currencycloud is also consolidated under Visa Direct which streamlines all of Visa’s cross border payments under one unified branding. The Currencycloud APAC New Business Onboarding team is an essential partner to the MMS business. The team provides solutions-oriented advice to ensure timely client onboarding, address stakeholder queries promptly, complete tasks within Service Level Agreements (SLA), and perform all duties to a high standard.

What a Financial Crime Analyst does at Visa:

This role, based in Singapore, supports the Currencycloud APAC New Business Onboarding Manager with new client onboarding. It reports to the APAC New Business Onboarding Manager and is part of Visa’s expansion in the region.

The core responsibilities for this role are as follows:

• Responsible for new business onboarding applications for Financial Institutions, Payment Institutions and Corporates in a myriad of industries and jurisdictions

• Carrying out know-your-customer (KYC) and Know-your-business (KYB) checks.

• Reviewing client’s regulatory cover

• Performing Risk Assessment on new clients

• Assessing the effectiveness of each client’s AML framework

• Leading AML calls with clients including visual walkthroughs of their processes and systems

• Responsible for undertaking enhanced due diligence on customers that pose greater risks, including investigating the legitimacy of the funds used in the business relationship

• Proactively escalating cases to senior members of the team

• Complete Compliance administration (such as keeping client records up to date).

• Work cross-departmentally to proactively identify and resolve any queries.

What you will need:

To apply for this role, we are looking for someone who has bachelor’s degree or higher education qualification and at least 3 years of working experience within AML/CFT compliance functions in the financial / payments industry. Professional AML accreditation preferred.

We will also seek candidates with the following:  

• Understanding of Singapore’s Payment Services Act and all relevant subsidiary legislation, especially PSN01 on Prevention of Money Laundering and Countering the Financing of Terrorism – Specified Payment Services. Knowledge of other payments regulations and AML typologies across APAC will be advantageous but not necessary.

• Possesses a comprehensive understanding of key Anti-Money Laundering (AML) and Risk frameworks

• Excellent communication skills in English & Mandarin (both written and verbal) and can provide constructive and clear feedback to queries.

• Fast thinker and quick learner with the ability to work effectively under pressure, in a rapidly changing environment.

• Excellent team working skills, capable of managing own workload and has tenacious attention to details.

• Ability to priorities work by taking the impact and scale of the work into consideration, as well as manage time effectively to meet deadlines.

This is a hybrid position. Hybrid employees can alternate time between both remote and office. • Experience with US GAAP and IFRS reporting standards.
• Expert knowledge across financial and non-financial MAS and Basel regulatory reporting including MAS 1111, MAS 1003, MAS 1015 and final Basel 3 reporting requirements.
• Strong understanding of liquidity and interest rate risk in the banking book including experience developing and implementing governance models to manage risk and reporting.
• Experience managing offshore service centres around process control and outsourcing governance.
• Knowledge in regulatory regimes in Hong Kong, Taiwan, China, Korea, India, Australia and Malaysia would be considered an asset.
• Demonstrated expertise in data management (e.g. Alteryx, BI Tools etc.).

About the role

The Regional Manager- Financial Controller will own and evolve a Financial Control Framework that ensures our accounting records are complete, accurate and our disclosures comply with local and international reporting standards . This role will provide technical accounting support and guidance across the APAC finance teams as well as lead local initiatives and the APAC work stream of global Controllership projects.

The Regional Manager- Financial Controller reports to the Head of Financial Control, Operations & Planning, APAC. This role works closely with the Finance Operations teams in the region and is akey contact point for Tax advisors, auditors and Controllership colleagues in the London office and other regional offices.

Key Responsibilities

• Ongoing review and maintenance of accounting treatment in line with local regulations, commercial drivers and firm policy
  • Provide technical accounting support and guidance to respective APAC finance teams
  • Perform technical accounting research as needed
  • Liaise with London, usually the Central Controllership team
• Responsible for the completeness, accuracy, validity and disclosure of all account lines:
  • Review preparation of monthly journals
  • Oversee regular reconciliation to source
  • Answering queries from Central Controllership team by providing required data and/or business analysis

  • Maintain a diary of annual regulatory submissions across the region; audit, tax, company filings etc
  • Lead and oversee the statutory audits, Partnership tax and corporate tax across the region by:
    • Managing day to day relationships with external auditors and tax advisors
    • ensuring timely filing and reporting to regional regulators as well as Group
    • Statutory audits:
      • reconciling management to statutory accounts
      • maintaining excel models that generate Annual Report pro formas and the schedules for notes to accounts from the trial balance and other inputs
• When requested, support a range of Financial Planning and Analysis activities:
  • Supporting the annual budget and quarterly forecasts - generating capture templates, regional consolidation and system uploads for cashflow reporting, leases and regional provisioning
  • Developing best practice tools and templates

Primary Objective:

• Perform the daily BAU operations i.e. loan disbursements, repayments, fee collections, prepayments, rollovers

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute strategies to acquire new clients and expand existing relationships.
• Manage client relationships, focusing on loans including Commercial Property, Equipment and Machinery, Vehicle, and Land & Construction, as well as Hire Purchase agreements.
• Assess client financial needs and recommend appropriate loan products and solutions.
• Prepare and present loan proposals to clients, ensuring alignment with risk policies and regulatory requirements.
• Collaborate with internal stakeholders such as credit analysts, legal advisors, and product specialists to structure complex loan transactions.
• Monitor loan portfolio performance, conduct regular reviews, and manage credit risk effectively.
• Provide timely and accurate financial advice and support to clients.
• Stay updated on industry trends, market conditions, and regulatory changes affecting loan products.
• Maintain compliance with internal policies, procedures, and regulatory guidelines.
• Handle any other duties as assigned by management.

Requirements:

• Diploma in Finance, Business Administration, or a related field.
• Minimum 1 year of experience in relationship management within the financial services industry, with a focus on loans.
• Proven track record in sales and business development, with a strong network in Singapore’s financial market.
• In-depth knowledge of loan products such as Commercial Property, Equipment and Machinery, Vehicle, Land & Construction, and Hire Purchase is an advantage
• Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
• Ability to work effectively under pressure and meet deadlines.
• Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
• Proficiency in MS Office and CRM software.
