The story of your journey in this role

You will be a member of the software squad which maintains LORADS3, the current ATM system used operationally by the Civil Aviation Authority of Singapore. As such, you will be supporting the program by analysing PCRs, ECRs, fixing PCRs, design & implementation of the ECRs. Additionally, you will need to participate in issue investigation as part of the quality engineering process. You are also seen as leader in engineering best practices and should work actively within the System Engineering and SW disciplines to propagate them.

Immediate opportunities to upskill and learn the domain & life cycle of an ATM in operation will be provided via a learning mission in our AMS Headquarters in Singapore for a duration of 6-8 weeks. • Respond promptly to incident, investigate & provide temporary &/or permanent resolution of incidents escalated. Provide timely status updates to relevant parties and 24/7 support.

• Conduct root cause analysis & implement pro-active measures. Monitor effectiveness of implemented measures.

• Monitor & measure the performance & availability of network devices proactively; implement corrective actions identified to improve performance & availability.

• Monitor the agreed service level (.e.g. service request, system availability), document & maintain the configuration of the network devices; provide regular reporting to relevant parties.

• Plan & implement service continuity measures, i.e., backup/restore procedures & disaster recovery plan, to ensure continuous operation of the business.

• Provide network related technical advice to customers or project team.

• Ensure the management of network infrastructure adhere to established ISO20000 and ISO27001 processes/ procedures, ITIL best practices and methodologies where applicable.

• Manage network resources and schedule for network implementation /operation activities

• Established facility management standards/best practices to ensure operation consistency across project/facility management teams

JOB SCOPE

• Assist the manager in managing the iSeries Product and Operation Services.
• Manage the iSeries operations activities to meet the OLA/SLA.
• Develop and update of Standard Operational Procedure, Operation Procedures.
• Provide iSeries support to both IT and business user.
• Manage and escalate system operation and application issues timely to management.
• Ensure all System Backup activities are completed successfully.
• Ensure System Disaster recovery readiness and successful execution of DR testing.
• Manage the High Availability iSeries System environment.
• Pro-active monitoring and maintenance of multiple iSeries servers and applications.
• Manage the Risk and Security & Vulnerability remediation for iSeries in compliance to the security best practices.
• Manage third party software, ensure they are updated according to the support lifecycle.
• Responsible for Firmware and OS upgrades, Performance Tuning, Capacity Planning, PTF installation.
• Work with multiple vendors on the implementation of iSeries support, lifecycle upgrade and project.

EDUCATION

• Degree in Information Technology / Services related curriculum preferred
• Additional experience may be substituted in lieu of a degree

CERTIFICATION

• Formal IBM iSeries training and/or IBM certification preferred
• Formal training and certification in System Management, e.g. ITIL foundation

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE

• Minimum 10+ years hands-on experience in an iSeries environment
• Experience in managing iSeries AS400 operations.
• Experience in ITIL and processes in Service Request, Incident, problem and change management.
• Experience of one or more of the following:
• Remote Journaling / High Availability concept.
• Backup and Recovery on Flashcopy, BRMS, Safe Guarded Copy, NIM for VIOS backup.
• Security management in iSeries System and Application, user profiles, object authorities, system values .
• IBM i OS V7R3, V7R5, IBM VIOS Virtual Machine Environment.
• IBM PowerHA, ASP & iASP Disk configuration and administration.
• IBM EIM implementation for Single Sign on.
• 1 or more system replication software – e.g. iTera, Assured Mimix.
• Network configuration for TCP/IP protocol, Route and Host Tables, Firewall Rules.
• IBM SAN storage and SAN Switches, FC multipath configuration.
• System performance tuning, performance, and alert monitoring.
• Firmware, Patch, PTF, CUM Package ordering/installation.
• Query/400 – SQL/400, DB2 and performance tuning.
• Third party software, e.g. iTera, Assured Mimix, Optimizer, Fortra Powertech Exit Point, Authority broker, compliant monitor, Antivirus, System monitoring tool.
• Working knowledge on ACSC and Infinium advantages.

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE

• IT processes, policies and procedures.
• Hand on experience and knowledge of iSeries application structure, operating system, installation specifications, troubleshooting, problem determination and data restoration techniques.
• Knowledge of and experience in personal computers and Microsoft products.
