As a Software Engineer III at JPMorgan Chase within the Corporate Investment Banking Payment Technology team, you serve as a seasoned member of an agile team to design and deliver trusted market-leading technology products in a secure, stable, and scalable way. You are responsible for carrying out critical technology solutions across multiple technical areas within various business functions in support of the firm’s business objectives.

Job responsibilities

• Work as a back-end software engineer (actively coding) and solid approach to writing unit level tests using mocking frameworks, as well as automating component, integration and end-to-end tests

• Hands-On on JVM languages (Java, preferably Java 8+) and experience in automating deployment, releases and testing in continuous integration, continuous delivery pipelines. Understanding of security frameworks / standards , data streaming and messaging frameworks (Kafka, Spark, etc.), distributed tracing and monitoring (Prometheus, ELK) , experience with containers (Docker, Kubernetes, etc.)

• Gathers, analyzes, synthesizes, and develops visualizations and reporting from large, diverse data sets in service of continuous improvement of software applications and systems

• Proactively identifies hidden problems and patterns in data and uses these insights to drive improvements to coding hygiene and system architecture

• Understand the distributed systems and cloud technologies (AWS, Docker, Kubernetes etc.), dependency injection frameworks (Spring / SpringBoot, etc.), microservices architecture, RESTful APIs, web technologies, relational databases

Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills

• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics or other related disciplines

• 5 or more years of software engineering experience

• Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts and 3+ years applied experience

• Hands-on practical experience in system design, application development, testing, and operational stability

• Proficient in coding in one or more languages

• Experience in developing, debugging, and maintaining code in a large corporate environment with one or more modern programming languages and database querying languages

• Overall knowledge of the Software Development Life Cycle

• Solid understanding of agile methodologies such as CI/CD, Applicant Resiliency, and Security

• Demonstrated knowledge of software applications and technical processes within a technical discipline (e.g., cloud, artificial intelligence, machine learning, mobile, etc.)

Attached to a project as a key member of the design team; will be responsible for the proper and timely execution in accordance with the control estimate and specific requirements of the project. Key Responsibilities:

• The design verification engineer is expected to check, test, and gate the product design for both performance and reliability.
• Draft a test plan to cover each feature in product spec, certification requirement, and customer application.
• Support on DFMEA documentation draft and maintenance.
• Test products' electrical & mechanical performance and reliability with lab equipment such as multi-meter, integrating sphere, oscilloscope, and environmental chamber.
• Testing equipment management & maintenance.
• Follow up on the quality issues found and verify the effectiveness of corrective action.
• Give quality input during the early design stage to avoid potential quality issues.
• Update & deliver the test reports to the project lead and define the quality level of R&D stages.
• Work with QA to ensure the design quality can be delivered to the next phase.

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s in Electronic Engineering, computer science, or relevant majors.
• At least 3 years of design, testing, or quality experience.
• Experience in power electronics product testing and understanding of electronic product schematics is required.
• Operation experience with basic electronic equipment like oscilloscope, multimeter, power supply, and load are required.
• Knowledge or experience in electronic design, design quality, MCU, FW testing & appliances is preferred.
• Able to travel overseas.
• Familiar with UL standards will be an added advantage.
