The National University of Singapore invites applications for Research Assistants to join our projects in the Department of Diagnostic Radiology, Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine. Our projects are primarily focused on exploring the role of neuroimaging in the clinic, facilitated by quantitative analysis including machine learning, with a focus on neurodegenerative diseases (e.g. Alzheimer's and Parkinson's disease), with a small focus on brain tumor imaging. The title of the current major project is <Development of a data-driven imaging biomarker for Alzheimer's disease>. The main objective of our ongoing research is to develop and validate data-driven imaging biomarkers to predict the prognosis of Alzheimer's disease dementia in elderly individuals by harmonizing established Alzheimer's disease research datasets and retrospective local institutional datasets.

The primary responsibilities of the Research Assistant will revolve around data management and administrative tasks, as described below:

Key Responsibilities

Database management and basic analysis:

- Download and integrate imaging and other non-imaging data into our research database.

- Perform basic neuroimaging processing and analysis using our existing R / Python pipeline. The role could extend to pipeline customization if the RA shows an interest and aptitude for image analysis work.

Procurement Operations
• Administer quotation and tender processes and review procurement documents
• Participate in the evaluation of bids and conduct negotiations, prepare recommendation reports, and facilitate the approval and award of bids in consultation with users
• Perform procurement transactions timely in NUS' procurement system, Ariba (i.e. publication, bid download, award, PO creation, goods receipt) to meet service levels
• Identify and implement procurement processes improvements to streamline workflows

Qualifications

1. Recognized University degree
2. Minimum 5 years procurement experience familiar with tendering processes, bid evaluations, report writing and contract negotiation
3. Good interpersonal, communication and time management skills
4. Results oriented with a demonstrated commitment to teamwork
5. Experience as a change agent in an organisation
6. Proficient in SAP Ariba and Microsoft Office
7. Strong proficiency in written and spoken English for drafting tender specifications and facilitating effective communication with stakeholders and suppliers

Responsibilities:

• Handle and prepare various charter party forms/terms in the Dry Cargo Department
• General administration of execution and invoices in accordance with charter party terms and conditions and company policy
• Coordinate with the Ship Owners and Charterers
• Handle Port Disbursement
• Attend to and follow up on operational issues, e.g. keeping track of LOI & B/L
• Provide general administrative support to the operations department
• Any ad-hoc duties as assigned

Requirements:

• Relevant working experience in Shipping/Dry Cargo department is beneficial.
• Meticulous with an eye for detail
• Hands on experiences in charter party terms, responsible and able to multitask.
• Familiar with dry cargo operations is an added bonus.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office applications i.e. Ms Words, Ms Excel & Ms Outlook.
• Well versed in English (Mandarin an added advantage)
