Job Description

This job provides you with the opportunity to develop skills in collecting primary data as well as handling large datasets, data analysis, and causal inference. It is a good opportunity to learn and build your skills in fieldwork and data analysis. If you are interested in a future career in data analytics or graduate studies in economics, this research assistantship will also give you the relevant training and exposure.

This is a full-time position from June 2025 on a one-year renewable contract.

In accordance with the terms of the project funding, applicants with Singapore citizenship and permanent residence will be preferred.

Job Responsibilities

The Research Assistant (RA) will assist Professor Ivan Png in applied microeconomic research. Duties include compiling data from primary and secondary sources, analysis and programming, algebraic analysis, reviewing research, and writing. Qualifications and Skills

• Honours degree in economics, business, or related discipline.
• Skilled in programming and statistics.
• Willing to work independently, in the field and office.

Contract Period:

• Contract Base Period : From 1 Feb 2025 to 31 Jan 2026.
• Contract Option : From 1 Feb 2026 to 31 Jan 2027.

Deployment:

• Mondays to Thursdays: 7:00am to 4.30pm, inclusive of 1hr lunch break
• Fridays: 7:00am to 4:00pm, inclusive of 1hr lunch break
• Service not required on Saturdays, Sundays and gazetted public holidays

Scope of Works:

1) Cleaning and tidying of college areas:

• General Office
• HOD Room
• Staff Room
• Meeting Rooms
• Staff Pantries
• Lift Lobby and
• Toilets

2) Hostel:

• To escort contractor (ad-hoc or term) to respective locations for repair and maintenance
• To check for any common area defects
• To carry out gardening works, Eg. water potted plants
• To carry out cleaning works for rooms, including preparing bedlinens for new ad-hoc check-in
• To carry out cleaning works for common area, Eg. wet area, lift lobby, office, meeting room, toilet, empty recycle bins (NEA bluboxes) etc
• To store keep the luggage room, such as bed linens, tools and spare parts for ad-hoc repairs
• General maintenance such as changing of filter for air purifier, maintenance and replacement of vacuum cleaner bags etc

3) Any other duties as assigned by Officer-in-charge

* Small group,easy to work together as a team

* Does not require to work on Sundays and Public Holidays

* Candidates must possess at lease O, N , A level or ITE certificate

* Preferred 1 year (s) of working experience in the related field. Candidate without relevant experience but with good interpersonal skill will be considered(Training will be provided). A level student waiting for result will also be considered for temp job

* Assist dentist on the chairside

* Disinfect room, instructment, equipment after each use.

* Maintenance the cleanliness of the room at all time.

* Check and keep track of the inventory of products and material shelf life.

* Answer to enquiry from patients handle invoices and payment.

* Registration of patients

* Prepare material for use in treatment and autoclaving.

* Any other tasks assigned by the dentist or manager
