We are seeking a dynamic and experienced individual to join our team in the environmental services role. In this role, you will provide the overall operational management direction and leadership for the environmental services functions – Housekeeping, Linen Management, Waste Management, Pest Control and Landscape, and support the operational readiness, activation and transition (ORAT) plan of the hospital. You will work with stakeholders to develop operational models in line with the development of hospital services and care model, develop operational workflows and emergency response/security plans, co-develop workflow simulations based on various scenarios to test new models both virtually and on physical prototypes in the EGH Healthcare Living Lab (HLL). You will be required to manage an in-house core team, as well as our outsourced partners / service providers and concurrently develop procurement and resourcing plans to support the environmental services operations, whilst implementing initiatives to improve the quality and efficiency of the operations (e.g. adoption of technology or robotics to reduce manual labour and optimise resources, outcomes-based contracting, and sustainable practices).

Job requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in any discipline with at least 10 years of relevant experience, including at least 2 years in management of hospital operations
• Good knowledge in both front-end and back-end environmental services
• Team player, highly motivated and action-oriented with excellent planning and analytical skills
• Able to engage various stakeholders in a fluid environment and growing organisation
• Ability to work under pressure and adapt to challenging conditions

As Deputy Director (Clinical Services & Medical Affairs), you will provide strategic leadership for Clinical Services and Medical Affairs (CS&MA), planning and developing the various sections in the department:

1. Medical Affairs (MA)

2. Clinical Quality (CQ)

3. Clinical Planning and Development (CPD)

4. Maintenance of Competency (MOC)

5. Standards and Policies (S&P)

Your role will be crucial in developing the new Eastern General Hospital. You will ensure that clinical frameworks and guidelines are implemented expeditiously for harmonised practice across the Hospital, complying with relevant clinical, statutory and regulatory requirements, and properly discharging obligations under the Ministry of Health's (MOH) Service Level Agreement. Additionally, you will lead, participate in and contribute actively to Hospital Committees and Workgroups.

Supporting the Chairman, Medical Board, you will supervise the Medical Board Office staff in developing clinical strategies and creating an environment that supports and enables medical professionals to continually achieve clinical excellence through the provision of safe, evidence-based, high-quality care to patients.

Job requirements

• Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS), equivalent medical qualifications, or State Registered Nurse with postgraduate qualification in Management, or Degree in Health Science / Hospital Management
• Possession of a Master’s degree in a related field would be an advantage, e.g. Master’s in Public Health, Master’s in Business Administration
• At least 12years’ total experience in clinical healthcare and healthcare administration
• Sound understanding of Quality Improvement principles, redesign and management
• Well organised, able to handle large volume of information, documents and simultaneous tasks in a systematic manner
• Understanding of biostatistics is essential.
• Excellent interpersonal skills, diplomacy, tact and the ability to communicate effectively with all levels of staff, management and the public
• Possess high level of integrity and strong sense of responsibility.
