Duties and responsibilities

- Establishing an independent research programme in the area of health promotion and implementation science to address health related behaviours and mental health;
- Undertaking literature reviews, leading on analysing data, writing reports, presentations, and publication of results and findings in peer-reviewed journal

JOB REQUIREMENTS

Education

• A Bachelor’s degree in Physiotherapy with clinical and supervisory competency
• PC literate Experience with ideally at least 2 years of relevant working experience.

Professional Registration

• Registered with Allied Health Professions Council (AHPC)
• Possess valid Practicing Certificate from AHPC, Singapore.

Reporting to Centre-IC, Medical Technologist (MT) is responsible for the daily operations and administration of laboratory to ensure compliance to regulations and accreditation standards. This includes daily routine laboratory work, performing phlebotomy, electrocardiogram and spirometry. MT is responsible to maintain professional care to patients and works closely with NUP and other stakeholders.

Job scope

• Perform patient registration, specimen reception, preparation and packing of specimens
• Perform laboratory analysis (e.g. Urine microscopy, full blood count, HbA1c), operate and maintain instruments according to work instruction.
• Perform point-of-care testing, phlebotomy, ECG and spirometry procedures.
• Responsible to verify and report accurate results in timely fashion; investigates and reports any anomalies.

Qualification

Associate Medical Laboratory Technologists (AMLT) are responsible for the daily operations of the laboratory which include phlebotomy, electrocardiogram, spirometry and clinical laboratory work.

Responsibilities

• Perform daily operations of the laboratory
• Perform all procedures in accordance with laboratory standard operating procedures (SOPs)
• Perform phlebotomy, Electrocardiogram (ECG) and spirometry in an accurate, efficient and professional way.
• Perform Point of Care Testing (e.g. Prothrombin Time, glucose) and clinical laboratory tests such as urinalysis (e.g. Urine FEME, dipstick, pregnancy), haematology (e.g. full blood count, peripheral blood film, erythrocyte sedimentation rate, prothrombin time), biochemistry (e.g. HbA1c, neonate bilirubin), microscopy examination (e.g. fungal smear, high vaginal swab) independently.
• Ensure specimen identification, processing and storage of test specimens are in consistent with good laboratory practices
• Perform and verify quality control for all analysers prior to patients sampling
• Use of Laboratory Information System (LIS) to perform functions such as result entry, result validation and tracking for outstanding tests
• Ensure all test results provided for clinicians are accurate and reliable
• Ensure analysers/equipment are functioning properly and are well maintained.
• Notify medical technologist/lab in charge when instrument malfunction and make arrangements with BME or instrument vendor to service the instrument
• Notify inventory person in charge when reagents and stocks supplies run low.

Patient Service Associates (PSA) provide frontline counter services to patients. PSA is to assist patients by checking patient’s service/order requirement, managing patient queues, handle basic enquiries (e.g. appointment booking) and to provide administrative support to medical technologists and radiographers.

Job Responsibilities:

• Responsible for reception of all appointment and walk-in patients at the Diagnostics counters
• Ensure 2 patients’ identifiers (NRIC & Name) are verified for all patients when handling patient registration electronically (i.e. EPIC, LIS, RIS, POS, BSS.) and verifying tests ordered by doctors.
• Accurate appointment scheduling / booking and registration for eligible mammogram patients via Breast Screen Singapore (BSS) portal

• Relevant instructions are communicated effectively to patients prior to their procedures/tests, chaperon patients to changing or counselling room where applicable.

• Perform general radiographic examinations and/or at least one of the area of specialty including mammography and/or ultrasound and/or Bone Mineral Densitometry.
• Responsible for the safety and welfare of the patient.

Overview

The Senior Manager will support the Centre for Innovation in Healthcare (CIH) Head in leading the CIH services and initiatives as well as the NUHS Practice Changing Innovation (PCI) programme to drive innovation projects at various stages of the healthcare innovation journey, to progress them towards the final goal of deployment and clinical adoption of the innovation.
