Job Description

• Analyse data on Workplace Safety and Health (WSH) performance, conditions and practices.
• Carry our WSH compliance inspections.
• Clarify WSH program mme requirements to employees of other departments.
• Coach team members on how to conduct routine checks on work activities.
• Conduct WSH incident and accident investigations.
• Conduct document reviews of Workplace Safety and Health
• Management System (WSHMS) reports.
• Coordinate Emergency Preparedness and Response Plan (EPRP) drills and the maintenance of emergency response equipment.
• Coordinate WSH programme initiatives.
• Develop and deliver safety briefings.
• Evaluate WSH non-compliance, unsafe work conditions and practices to identify WSH performance gaps.
• Evaluate impact of health hazards to employees’ safety and prioritise issues based on severity.
• Highlight barriers in complying with WSH policy and procedure.
• Identify areas for improvement in WSHMS.
• Implement Emergency Preparedness and Response Plan (EPRP) and communicate it to stakeholders.
• Implement Workplace Safety and Health Management (SWHMS) and Risk Management (RM) plans within scope of own work.
• Maintain WSHMS documentation.
• Monitor the implementation progress measures to address root cause of incident.
• Review investigation findings to identify causes of incidents and accidents.
• Support Workplace Safety and Health (WSH) policy and procedure implementation.

Requirements

• Candidate must possess at least Diploma specialized in Environmental/Health/Safety or equivalent.
• At least 5 to 8 years of working experience in the related field is required for this position.
• Must be registered WSHO.
• Well-Versed In WSH Act and requirements.
• Possess good working attitude
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills
• Ability to multitask and work under pressure to meet tight deadline
• Able to work in project site in Tuas South area.

Responsibilities

• Projection of manpower establishment and review of hiring requests. Partner with the Talent Acquisition team to pre-plan forward hiring for projected attrition.
• Provide advisory support on issues relating to performance management and people management.
• Communicate and advise on HR policies and implement management practices that align with policies and comply to regulations and regularly review and improve on workflow processes & procedures.
• Conduct exit interviews to establish and find out issues relating to staff retention and satisfaction.
• Manage annual/bi-annual mass renewal of practicing certificates for all existing Allied Health Professionals/Pharmacists.
• Prepare reports for supporting departments/overall JHC departments (as assigned)
• Manage all HR operational matters relating to the assigned division/ departments, with support from Shared Services (where applicable).
• Compensation & Benefits
• Partner with the Performance & Reward team to coordinate the promotion exercise and annual appraisal exercises and work closely with the line to review promotion recommendations.
• Address staff queries on compensation matters, with support from the Performance & Reward team.
• Talent Management, Succession Planning & Employee Development
• Partner with Talent Management Specialists and Allied Health HODs in annual talent identification and succession planning exercises and work together on development posting opportunities for identified talents and potential successors.
• Employee Relations, Engagement & Change Management
• Provide advisory support on staff disciplinary or grievance handling including secretariat support for the investigations.
• Support in providing recommendations of interventions to improve employee engagement.
• Partner HODs to provide advice and guidance in the Master Service Agreement for staff secondment and work out the secondment terms and charges for agreement signing.
• Coordinate meetings and preparation of agenda and minutes of meetings.
• Support Annual Budget Planning exercise& submission of accruals.
• Contribute to OJT learning through the sharing of good practices.
• Any other projects assigned.
