Associate Medical Laboratory Technologists (AMLT) are responsible for the daily operations of the laboratory which include phlebotomy, electrocardiogram, spirometry and clinical laboratory work.

Responsibilities

• Perform daily operations of the laboratory
• Perform all procedures in accordance with laboratory standard operating procedures (SOPs)
• Perform phlebotomy, Electrocardiogram (ECG) and spirometry in an accurate, efficient and professional way.
• Perform Point of Care Testing (e.g. Prothrombin Time, glucose) and clinical laboratory tests such as urinalysis (e.g. Urine FEME, dipstick, pregnancy), haematology (e.g. full blood count, peripheral blood film, erythrocyte sedimentation rate, prothrombin time), biochemistry (e.g. HbA1c, neonate bilirubin), microscopy examination (e.g. fungal smear, high vaginal swab) independently.
• Ensure specimen identification, processing and storage of test specimens are in consistent with good laboratory practices

• Use of Laboratory Information System (LIS) to perform functions such as result entry, result validation and tracking for outstanding tests

Key Responsibilities:

Event Planning and Coordination:

• Plan, organize, and coordinate all logistical aspects of roadshow events, ensuring seamless execution from inception to completion.
• Develop comprehensive event timelines, budgets, and project plans, and adhere to deadlines and financial parameters.

Vendor and Venue Management:

On-Site Event Management:

• Oversee event set-up, tear-down, and day-of logistics to ensure smooth operations.
• Supervise on-site staff, volunteers, and temporary personnel, providing guidance and support as needed.
• Address any issues or challenges that may arise during events promptly and effectively.

Compliance and Risk Management:

• Ensure compliance with all relevant legal, health, and safety regulations throughout the planning and execution phases.
• Implement risk management strategies to mitigate potential hazards and liabilities.

Post-Event Evaluation and Reporting:

• Conduct thorough post-event evaluations to assess event success and effectiveness in meeting objectives.
• Analyze attendee feedback and performance metrics to identify areas for improvement and make recommendations for future events.

Primary Responsibilities (80%)

• Perform clinical duties in general radiography and at least one advanced imaging modality (CT / MRI / Ultrasound / Mammography / Breast Imaging / Interventional Radiology)

Patient Service Associates (PSA) provide frontline counter services to patients. PSA is to assist patients by checking patient’s service/order requirement, managing patient queues, handle basic enquiries (e.g. appointment booking) and to provide administrative support to medical technologists and radiographers.

Job Responsibilities:

• Responsible for reception of all appointment and walk-in patients at the Diagnostics counters
• Ensure 2 patients’ identifiers (NRIC & Name) are verified for all patients when handling patient registration electronically (i.e. EPIC, LIS, RIS, POS, BSS.) and verifying tests ordered by doctors.
• Accurate appointment scheduling / booking and registration for eligible mammogram patients via Breast Screen Singapore (BSS) portal
• Registration of mammogram patients are done accurately via BSS portal, including updating of patient particulars such as mailing address and contact number.
• Relevant instructions are communicated effectively to patients prior to their procedures/tests, chaperon patients to changing or counselling room where applicable.
• Handle enquiries and provide prompt and courteous service delivery to internal and external customers.
• Responsible for payment collection when assigned to cashier duties and ensure tally of end-of day sales with cash settlement and other transaction records.
• Ensure Medisave Authorization Forms (MAF) are filled in accurately with patients’ endorsement and approval, and all Medisave transactions are captured accurately in EASIPOS
• Accurate application of promotions and discount vouchers appropriately and to validate its utilization via EASIPOS
• Support administrative function to centre in-charge including but not limited to dispatching of lab and x-ray reports, proper record and documentation of courier services.

Reporting to Centre-IC, Medical Technologist (MT) is responsible for the daily operations and administration of laboratory to ensure compliance to regulations and accreditation standards. This includes daily routine laboratory work, performing phlebotomy, electrocardiogram and spirometry. MT is responsible to maintain professional care to patients and works closely with NUP and other stakeholders.

Job scope

• Perform patient registration, specimen reception, preparation and packing of specimens
• Perform laboratory analysis (e.g. Urine microscopy, full blood count, HbA1c), operate and maintain instruments according to work instruction.
• Perform point-of-care testing, phlebotomy, ECG and spirometry procedures.
• Responsible to verify and report accurate results in timely fashion; investigates and reports any anomalies.
• Responsible to perform daily quality control check and troubleshoot as required.
• Ensure proper documentations and records for traceability (e.g. acknowledgement on QC and maintenance checklist after completion).
• Assist to resolve patient’s queries and escalate to centre-IC when necessary.
• Adhere to work safety guidelines and infection control protocols to ensure staff and patient safety.
• Assist centre-IC in tasks as assigned.

Qualification

Degree in Medical Laboratory/Biomedical Science or related fields.

Prior experience working at clinical laboratory at public or private healthcare establishment is advantageous but training will be provided

Experience in phlebotomy and heel prick sample collection will be advantageous but training will be provided

Effective communications and ability to converse in vernacular languages is an asset

Able to work in a fast-paced environment and with good problem solving skills

Possess positive attitude in resolving hostile and disgruntled patients professionally

Ability to multi-task and work under tight timelines

Good interpersonal relationship skills and enjoy working as a team

Computer literate – knowledge of MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint will be advantageous
