Reporting to Centre-IC, Medical Technologist (MT) is responsible for the daily operations and administration of laboratory to ensure compliance to regulations and accreditation standards. This includes daily routine laboratory work, performing phlebotomy, electrocardiogram and spirometry. MT is responsible to maintain professional care to patients and works closely with NUP and other stakeholders.

Job scope

• Perform patient registration, specimen reception, preparation and packing of specimens

The Centre has launched the “Digital Healthcare Transformation (DHT) Initiative,” a multi-year program to boost public-private partnerships in digital health, data, and AI. This initiative complements the Global Health Equity Network (GHEN), which promotes health equity and patient-centred system transformation.

Singapore, a leader in healthcare delivery and equity due to its investment in digital health, will be highlighted as a World Economic Forum Centre for Health and a Healthcare Country Lighthouse. This collaboration aims to showcase Singapore’s healthcare success globally and identify opportunities for Public-Private Partnerships to advance health equity through digital transformation.

The Fellowship role will manage projects and provide expertise on Health Equity, access to care, and social determinants of health. The Fellow will support the Forum’s work in developing Singapore as a Country Lighthouse, conduct research on its health system transformation, and share insights on health equity. They will also coordinate with regional working groups and engage with local and global partners, including the Centre for the Fourth Industrial Revolution (C4IR) Network and the Accelerators Network, and contribute to the Forum's Health Equity strategy and broader global efforts.

The Health Equity effort in Singapore as well as the proposed pilot place-based change programme(s) will link to a broader global Global Health Equity strategy and pre-existing place-based change work (launching by the GHEN in 2024). This role is based in Singapore and hosted within the NUS Saw Swee Hock School of Public Health. The Fellow will be involved in projects from the Forum’s Centre for Health and Healthcare. The lead Bioinformatics Field Engineer is responsible for supporting and maintaining the bioinformatics software and hardware stacks that are used in the clinical laboratory to process patient samples using Guardant Health’s digital sequencing technology. In addition, they provide bioinformatic technical support to clinical teams, helping them to troubleshoot and interpret bioinformatics pipeline results to enroll advanced cancer patients in clinical trials and help physicians identify the right treatment options for their patients.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Support the CLIA/CAP accredited clinical laboratory by providing subject matter expertise in the software, hardware and result outputs of Guardant Health’s bioinformatic pipelines.
