This position is for the role of a psychologist/associate psychologist working with adults with developmental disabilities and other special needs in the Adult Disability setting (i.e., Day Activity Centre, Sheltered Workshop or Residential Home). This role aims to provide psychological services to individual clients presenting with behavioural issues and/ or mental health concerns, and professional consultation to the staff and caregivers who support our clients. You will be working both independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team within the social service agency (SSA).
This is a full-time role that involves deployment to multiple sites and/ or agencies depending on organisational needs. Travel accommodations to be further discussed.
Responsibilities
- Provision of psychological assessment, therapeutic intervention and professional consultation for adults with developmental disabilities presenting with behavioural concerns and/ or mental health issues
- Creation and conducting of programmes (i.e., social skills, emotion regulation) for adults with developmental disabilities
- Creation and conducting of psychoeducation and other programmes for staff and/ or caregivers
- Participate in routine care-planning and meetings as part of a multi-disciplinary team
- Perform administrative duties relevant to clinical practice and as required of the SSA.
Requirements
1. Educational qualifications and work experience
[Associate Psychologist Only] A recognized Bachelor’s (including Honours) of Psychology
[Psychologist Only] A Masters’ degree in Applied Clinical Psychology (e.g., Clinical Psychology, Counseling Psychology, Educational Psychology) from an accredited university. The programme must include a supervised practicum and supervised training in psychological assessments
[Psychologist Only] Be eligible for registration with the Singapore Psychological Society (SPS) (Full Membership) and Singapore register of Psychologists (SRP) registration
2. Experience
- Relevant experience working with either children or adults with autism will be an advantage
- Experience in administering psychoeducational assessment tools and providing intervention based on Positive Behaviour Support is preferable.
3. Other qualities
- Self-motivated with strong oral and written communication skills
- Able to work independently and collaboratively in multi-disciplinary team
- Exceptional planning and organizational skills
- Fluency in local languages
