This team is accountable for platform architecture evolution to meet the evolving needs of different business lines globally with rapid software deployment. As stewards of critical components in order execution and post-trade, the team is accountable for a high degree of software quality. How will you fulfill your potential?

• As part of the Equities Technology team you will be responsible for designing and implementing the firm’s strategic vision for the Equities technology stack
• You will deliver value by architecting scalable solutions that are primed for reuse across the revenue generating divisions
• You will reform workflows through automation and devise the tools which will enable the equities business to better service their clients’ needs
• You will develop and enhance the data centric tools that will be used to drive business decision making
• You will help internal and external clients to leverage the technology offering to efficiently and effectively meet their business goals

Basic Qualifications:

• Bachelors or Master’s degree in computer science or engineering
• 3 years of experience developing large-scale applications, ideally in Java/ C++
• Thorough knowledge of Java programming concepts
• Strong knowledge of object oriented programming, data structures, algorithms and design patterns
• Experience with distributed, event driven systems and using messaging protocols
• Strong communication skills and the ability to work in a team
• Strong analytical and problem solving skills
• Experience working with end users

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience in the financial industry and an aptitude to learn
• Cross platform desktop applications development experience
• Experience building applications on Linux
• Experience in project management at a basic level

We have an exciting opportunity for a Senior Associate to join our Valuations, Modelling & Economics team, focused on Financial Services sector, within Strategy and Transactions service line in Singapore.

We work across financial services sector (fintech, digital banking, traditional banking, insurtech and insurance, wealth & asset management) and operate in a broad range of disciplines including:

• M&A and fundraising valuation diligence
• Financial modelling for M&A and market entry (JV, greenfield, etc.)
• Valuation for financial reporting
• Financial modelling for FP&A (business forecasting and planning)
• Data analytics and visualization
• Other, bespoke model development

Your key responsibilities

• Have a primary focus on valuation and financial modelling to deliver projects for financial service sector clients throughout Asia
• Advise clients on M&A deals and strategic corporate finance issues
• Create and present insightful and compelling management presentations and valuation reports
• Use data analysis to address complex corporate finance and strategy problems
• Be a part of project teams comprising of colleagues from different competencies (Strategy, Transaction Strategy Execution, Transaction Diligence, Business Consulting)

The opportunity

Our Financial Services Transaction Diligence team aims to assist clients throughout the entire transaction process, and works closely with other specialists both within TAS and other Service Lines. Whilst traditional financial due diligence is a key element of our work, transaction support is much broader, incorporating assistance with strategic assessment, transaction management, negotiation and documentation, and post-completion processes.

Typically, you will analyse the financial results of financial services companies (e.g. banks, insurers, asset manager and FinTechs) targeted for sale by reviewing financial information and participating in interviews with key management of the company. You will work effectively as a team member by demonstrating your commitment to quality, sharing responsibility, providing support, maintaining communication and updating senior team members on progress. You will work on opportunities across ASEAN and occasionally across APAC.

You will also help to create a positive learning culture for junior team members and support their development. And as part of your role in the wider team, you will have a role to play in other team initiatives – for example, account management and recruitment of new teammates.

Your key responsibilities

• Understand the key business drivers, co-developing our approach with the client, agreeing value measurements with the client, providing value to the client through insights, factual conclusions and advice
• Gather, verify and analyse information, and formulate views
• Plan, prepare and review deliverables in various forms including excel databooks, written reports, presentations and discussions with the client
• Understand the capabilities of the firm and look for opportunities to sell additional services to our clients
• Work closely with all members as well as forming strong internal links within transaction support and other departments in EY both in the ASEAN and Asia-pacific to form multi-disciplinary teams
