The role

As a Senior Associate, you’ll play a vital role in the development of S-RM’s growing Corporate Intelligence team. Senior Associates work closely with our clients to understand their challenges, innovate solutions, and deliver findings. Our aim is to become trusted advisors to our clients.

Senior Associates are skilled research analysts, case managers and people managers, as well as consultants.

As a practitioner within S-RM, you will have the opportunity to develop junior colleagues, ensure world-class client service, and delivery of high-quality intelligence and analysis.They also work closely with our clients to understand their challenges, innovate solutions, and deliver findings. What We Need

We are seeking a highly skilled Data Software Engineer to design, implement, and maintain robust data systems and pipelines that empower our organization to leverage data effectively. The ideal candidate will come from a software engineering background, with commercial development experience in one or more object-oriented languages (Python, Go, Java, C#). Knowledge of data modeling, pipeline construction, data normalization and sanitization, and data governance would be highly advantageous.

They will collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure the availability, quality, and security of data to support business objectives.

Key Responsibilities

1. Data Pipeline DevelopmentDesign, build, and maintain scalable and efficient data pipelines for processing and transforming large datasets.
   Ensure pipelines are optimized for reliability and performance.
   
2. Data Modeling and ArchitectureDevelop and maintain logical and physical data models tailored to business needs.
   Optimize data storage solutions for scalability and performance.
   
3. Data Quality and SanitizationImplement processes for data normalization, deduplication, and cleaning to ensure high-quality datasets.
   Identify and resolve data inconsistencies, errors, and anomalies.
   
4. Data Governance and SecurityEstablish and enforce data governance standards, including policies for data access, compliance, and privacy.
   Implement security measures to protect sensitive data and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
   
5. Monitoring and OptimizationDevelop monitoring solutions to ensure the health and reliability of data pipelines and systems.
   Continuously optimize performance, storage, and costs of data infrastructure.
   

Qualifications

• Education:Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Data Science, or a related field.
  
• Experience:3+ years of experience in software engineering, data engineering or a related role.
  Proven experience with data modeling, ETL/ELT pipelines, and data architecture design.
  Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, Java, or Scala.
  Strong knowledge of SQL and relational databases (e.g., PostgreSQL, Sybase, SQL Server).
  
• Desirable Technical Skills:Experience with big data technologies (e.g., Hadoop, Spark) and cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, GCP, Azure).
  Familiarity with data integration tools (e.g., Apache Airflow, Talend, Informatica) and streaming technologies (e.g., Kafka, Flink).
  Experience with data warehouse technologies (e.g., Snowflake, Redshift, BigQuery).
  
• Soft Skills:Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  Effective communication and collaboration skills to work with diverse teams.
  Attention to detail and a proactive approach to ensuring data integrity.
  

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in conforming to data governance frameworks.
• Knowledge of data lake architectures and unstructured data processing.
• Familiarity with machine learning workflows and AI-driven data applications.
• Certifications in relevant technologies (e.g., AWS Certified Data Analytics, Google Professional Data Engineer).

Your Key Responsibilities

This is a role where no two days are the same – so you’ll find yourself taking on plenty of new responsibilities as you go. In a volatile world, effective risk management protects, sustains and improves business performance. As a risk professional, you’ll be focused on helping our clients develop an integrated and sustainable approach to risk and control that encompasses a holistic view of people, process and technology.

Skills and Attributes for Success

• Executing job planning: Conduct research on client background and risks and propose tailored audit work program and audit time schedules, coordinate with client on kick off meeting and other necessary planning activities.
• Executing review: Perform testing of audit areas, complete work programs including conducting interviews with Senior Management, provide guidance to junior team member(s), review the work of junior team member(s), schedule closing meeting with client, communicate and discuss audit observations with client and prepare closing meeting deck.
• Reporting: Prepare draft and final reports after the necessary internal reviews, wrap up audit work programs and work files, and assist in any other wrap up activities.
• Developing and maintaining productive working relationships with client personnel
• Building strong internal relationships within EY Consulting Services and with other services across the organization
• Contributing to people initiatives
• Contributing to an educational program to continually develop interpersonal and technical skills of staff
• Understanding and follow workplace policies and procedures

To Qualify for the role, you must have

• Recognized Bachelor's or Master's degree in Finance, Business, Risk Management or other related field
• A minor in any digital specialization such as DA if applicable
• At least 2 complete years of experience gained in an internal auditing /line position in a commercial environment, or in a big public accounting firm
• Strong computer skills such as MS Office (MS Excel and MS PowerPoint)
• International business experience preferred
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Demonstrated integrity, values, principles, and work ethics
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills
• Excellent command of verbal and written communication skills
• Able to work independently and as a team
• Willingness to travel on overseas assignments

Ideally, you’ll also have

• Industry related certification (e.g., CPA/CA, CIA, CMA)
• Experience in IT General Controls review
• Proficiency with data analytic tools or digital skills such as ACL, Tableu, Alteryx, data science, Robotic Process Automation

Job Responsibilities:

• Understand and propose solutions to client’s request, bringing in subject matter experts from internal departments or external parties to assist where necessary
• Main point of contact for clients’ request and attend to clients' inquiries promptly
• Assist with account onboarding, maintenance and management of the client relationship, predominantly focusing on large insurance institutions
• Facilitate the implementation of new instruments and strategies requested by the client.
• Facilitate cash and securities transfers as well as other account management request from the client
• Prepare presentation materials and conduct regular client review meetings to provide timely updates regarding ongoing request(s)
• Customise and send client reports in accordance to clients’ requirements and timeline
• Handle other client solutions duties and ad-hoc projects as assigned

Job Requirements:

• A relevant Degree, preferably in finance or accountancy
• Experience working within a client focused environment, servicing large insurance institutions or operational background in asset management will be an added advantage (fresh graduates are welcome to apply)
• Good industry knowledge relating to the financial markets, asset management or securities servicesKnowledge in investments, derivative instruments and deep understanding of operational activities of asset management is mandatory
• Good understanding/knowledge in investments, derivative instruments and operational activities of asset management
• Proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and Powerpoint. Proficiency in Bloomberg and Morningstar will be useful
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills. Fluency in English is mandatory
• Ability to foster and maintain strong interpersonal internal and external relationships
• Demonstrate behaviours of being resourceful, organised, and paying attention to details
• Fast learner who is self-motivated and resourceful to resolve queries
• An excellent team player with a “can do” attitude
