Preschool Centre Manager

Location: Ang Mo Kio
Salary: $4,000-$6,000

Responsibilities:

• Manage and oversee an established childcare centre to ensure smooth day-to-day operations
• Oversee scheduling and planning of staff scheduling and child’s daily routine to ensure well-­being of the children in center
• Work closely with external agencies to ensure regulatory compliance and best support
• Work closely with management and rest of the teaching and non-teaching team to ensure staff well-being and morale
• Support enrollment and be a spokesperson for the school’s Montessori system to be able to explain benefits of the system to parents
• Build rapport with student and parents in order to facilitate open communication and trust.
• Prepare/Review lessons plans, conduct lesson evaluation, prepare/review teaching aids and review children’s portfolio in order to facilitate the optimal development of each child
• Plan, organize, oversee and participate in school activities inside and outside of the class in order to extend and the experiences and development of the children

Requirements:

• Diploma in Pre­school Teaching / Early Childhood Care & Education–Leadership (DECCE­-L) or higher
• min 2 years in teaching position certify as L2 by ECDA

Job Description

• Answer customers’ queries and prepare quotations
• Handle and arrange import and export shipments
• Liaise with overseas agents to check on the shipping documents, rules and regulations for the respective countries

• Close communication with vendors, shippers, customers, carriers and overseas agents
• Perform data entry for freight services
• Accurately manage paperwork documentation for billing and closing of files after shipment completion

DESCRIPTION

The Port Operations Manager is responsible for the smooth transition of port operation and otherwise.

To perform this role, the Port Operations Manager stays in close contact with a range of industry groups, such as customs and quarantine, stevedores, and shipping lines.

The Port Operations Manager is responsible for the efficient use of port facilities and resources with specific responsibilities for health and safety and security. Some roles that the Port Operations Manager takes charge of include managing vessel loading and discharge, managing safety, managing staff, and liaising with customers and other port users.

Solely Accountable For:

1. Cost vs Budget of Operations
2. Training, Developing, and Promoting field level employees
3. Safety Incident Rate of direct reports
4. Overall Equipment Utilization
5. Overall Operating, Maintenance, & Repair Cost of Equipment
6. On-time Completion of Jobs

General Duties:

1. Facilitate daily / weekly / monthly scheduling of operations
2. Lead morning huddle
3. Participate in daily Foreman Toolbox Talks
4. Facilitate pre-operation meetings
5. Facilitate planning of operations in compliance with Company standards
6. Assure there are proper and adequate resources (manpower & equipment) to perform the work efficiently
7. Oversee Foreman with allocating resources (manpower & equipment) to operations
8. Assure work is being executed in accordance with the plan, and approve any changes that may be necessary
9. Assure the work site is kept clean, organized, and professional
10. Coordinate with the client’s operations personnel
11. Manage and enforce the designated operator (task training) program
12. Manage and enforce the daily equipment inspection program
13. Review daily / weekly cost reports with Superintendents and Foremen
14. Assist Superintendents and Foremen with solving operational issues
15. Regular communication with field-level employees to reinforce vision, goals, expectations, changes, etc
16. Maintain high morale of field-level employees
17. Train and coach Superintendents and Foremen in accordance with Division succession plan

POSITION REQUIREMENTS

Extensive experience as a Port Operations Manager or similar is required

• 5+ years of marine operations management experience
• Proficiency in MS Office software
• Maritime Academy or other maritime schooling preferred
